How long do you typically feel zingers after teeth whitening?

Asked more than five years ago by Alex

I just started high concentration tray based whitening, and I have been feeling zingers for 2 days already. How long do they last for? It is very paintful. I hope it is worth it.

 ANSWER

Zingers generally last for a few days if you are using high concentration bleaching gels. While people with healthy gums and teeth may experience a few sensations, those with gum recession, cracked teeth, weak or thin enamel or faulty restorations may experience more zingers. How is your teeth health?

Most people experience zingers after proper teeth whitening, keep that in mind. If it is really bothering you, we suggest stopping for a few days and then resuming.
