Why do bleaching gels come in different percentages?

Asked more than five years ago by Erict

 ANSWER

Teeth whitening gels are developed in a variety of strengths and that’s indicated by the % of carbamide or hydrogen peroxide in the formula. The higher the percentage of peroxide, the stronger the gel is - and the more it might cause problems with teeth whitening sensitivity. Higher percentages of peroxide also mean faster bleaching - make sure you check with your dentist about the appropriate wear time for the strength of gel you’re using.
