A misnomer. While professional in-office whitening systems such as Zoom, BriteSmile and Sapphire may all use a light to enhance the bleaching effects of their respective whitening gels, the light is not technically a laser. Zoom and BriteSmile utilize a UV light, while Sapphire utilizes an LED source. The whitening trend is, however, moving away from light-activated bleaching systems.
