Opalescence Xtra Boost Teeth Whitening System

This was a terrible experience. The tech showed me the coloration chart and we picked my closest match...the lightest on the chart. She said my results would be so white they'd be off the chart. I was hopeful that would be true. The results were not even noticeable. She held up the original color match and it was exactly the same. Not a bit of difference at all. I am about to be married in a couple of weeks so I am so disappointed. My teeth have been seriously aching for over 7 hours now. 3 advil are not helping. Just the air hurts. I DO NOT recommend this product. I had better results with Crest Whitening strips for $35.

I had it done about 2 weeks ago. My teeth were already very white, but I see some improvement. After the treatment, I had sensitivity in one tooth for one day. It was a bit intense, very sharp pains, but they were short(lasted for a few secs) and only happened every 3-4 mins. I considered taking something for the pain, but decided to just tough it out. Over all I am satisfied I guess. I got a super sweet deal(only $89), so I can't complain. I can definitely see where the pain could be tough to deal with. I did have a dentist friend recommend that I take a couple of ibuprophens an hour before the treatment. He said it would help...I didn't follow that advice. I would recommend that to anyone having the procedure.

I just got back from the dentist and am in so much pain. They gave me an 800 mg Ibuprofin in the office, and it did nothing. I get these sharp waves of intense pain every couple of minutes. I'm ready to take a Vicodin. Everyone's teeth and pain tolerance is different, so some people (see above review) shouldn't tell others that they are wimps. My teeth have spots on them too, and look horrible. I would NOT recommend!

No pain whatsoever. Very pleased with results. I'm glad I didn't read some of the other reviews before I had mine done. I would have missed out on the great results.

I just got the procedure done and I'm not impressed...the sensitivity is RIDICULOUS and I don't really know if my teeth are any whiter. I was expected a little sensitvity but my goodness, this is borderline unbearable! I wanna cry right now :(

OMG, I had no idea this would be so painful. I did it because my dentist was offering a $99 special for this month. They told me my teeth would be sensitive, not constant sharp pains :(

The RDA acctually had to stay with me the last 20 minutes to keep my mouth clear of saliva and apply topical anesthetic. I even heard her say "oh my god" not a good sign. I was even given this paste to help with the sensitivity and later found out I have to pay $27 for it.

I am home now and have taken advil and vicodin and am still in pain 2 hours later.

Worrrrst pain ever!!!! Do not do this. I wasn't warned that it would be this bad. And yes, I;d rather give birth than do this again. HOrrible!

Totally not happy with the results, unbelievable painful, my teeth are not wither at all. My gums are still bleeding, swollen and I have been experiencing weird pains in my mouth~~!!!! Boost shit does not work, and if the stupid worker who applies it is not focus just as the idiot that did me wasn't, he or she will put the red paste wherever does not need to go, resulting in a burn mouth.
I had to take painkillers to decrease the pain in my lips. gums, tongue, and the top, and bottom of my mouth. Do not do it~~!!!!!

i am a dentist and i recently started using xtra boost in my office. the first time i used it it was painful to the patient but it was only because i didnt applied the opal dam correctly (didn´t use enough) but the rest of my patients didn´t feel any pain at all, only a little bit of sensitivity after the threatment but it´s normal in any whitning system and it usully goes away in a couple of hours or a day at the most.

the results are instant, but the more yellow the teeth more whiter the results.
the cost: is a very affordable whitning system (i only charge $200) and in my experience it works great.

I HAD GOTTEN MY TEETH WHITENED BY BOOST WHICH DID NOTHING. I THOUGHT THAT MY TEETH HAD CHANGED COLORS BUT TWO WEEKS LATER MY TEETH LOOKED THE SAME. ITS BETTER TO USE 35% OPALESCENCE OFF AMAZON THEN TO GO TO A DENTIST. THE TAKE HOME IS JUST AS EFFECTIVE AS A DENTIST.

I HAVE BLEACHED MY TEETH 3 TIMES IN THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS. THE FIRST 2 TIMES I USED THE CUSTOM TRAYS WITH BLEACH FROM THE DENTIST OFFICE. I HAD A LITTLE SENSITIVITY WITH THESE PRODUCTS WHICH I HAD BEEN WARNED ABOUT. NO BIG DEAL, GONE IN A FEW DAYS. TODAY, I WENT TO THE DENTIST AND USED OPALESCENCE. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT DOING IT, PLEASE RUN THE OTHER DIRECTION. I WAS CRYING WHILE IT WAS BEING DONE AND HAVE BEEN IN SEVERE PAIN SINCE I LEFT. I HAVE BLISTERS ON MY GUMS, TOUNGE AND LIP. THE DENTIST SAID THE BLEACHED MUST HAVE "LEAKED" ONTO THOSE AREAS AND SAID IT COULD LAST 2 WEEKS OR SO. HE SAID MAYBE I COULD TRY TO PUT VIT E ON IT. HE RUSHED ME TO THE PAYMENT COUNTER TO PAY AND THAT WAS IT.I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IM GONNA TOLERATE THIS. I FEEL LIKE GOING TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. DO WHAT YOU CHOSE BUT I WILL TELL YOU THIS CRAP IS A JOKE. MY TEETH ARE 1 MAYBE 2 SHADES LIGHTER. I HAD WAAAAY BETTER RESULTS WITH THE TRAYS I GOT BEFORE. GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO READ THIS!

OMG the PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am dying!!! I have a very high pain tolerance. I gave birth to two daughters totally natural at home and I find this equally painful! Different - but equal in terms of sheer pain. I can barely speak.

Aside from that, my teeth look great and I just got home. I heard they can continue to get lighter also, so it will be interesting to see how light they get.

Overall, if I would have known how much it would hurt, I probably wouldn't have done it. I just took a pain killer I had left over from a back injury so I'm sure I won't care in a few minutes...

**DO NOT GET YOUR TEETH BLEACHED FOR AT LEAST 3 WEEKS AFTER GETTING BRACES TAKEN OFF. YOU WILL FEEL PAIN AND SENSITIVITY LIKE YOU WOULDN'T IMAGINE**

heres what happens if you dont wait

after one application on the bottom and 2 on the top, i was done. not because the whitening worked, but because my teeth were so sensitive and painful.
now there are white spots on my teeth and they cannot continue bleaching for 4 weeks while my teeth become less porous.
at that time, they will make me bleaching trays and give me some BOOST to take home to change my color if i choose

In-office. Easy and relaxing. Slight pain in front bottom tooth 2 times. Slight residual aching periodic. Not long lasting ache. Well worth it as I had immediate results. Took the trays and will do after every cleaning. Would not do the laser because I heard it can be painful and you have to sit very still.

I just did boost whitening teeth this afternoon. It sucks. I didn't see my teeth change to white at all. Instead I feel very sour pain in my gums now. I paid $199. It watsed money and time. The dentist is greedy and only need to make money. My teeth is still yellow and exactly as the same as before. I don't recommend to use boost.

I did the Opalescence Boost in-office procedure about 11 days ago. During the procedure I had only a little pain on my upper teeth. But it was tolerable. Afterwards, I had some "zingers" for the next 2 days on mostly my bottom teeth. But they stopped after that. 1 year ago I had ZOOM done by a dentist and it was extremely painful (I will never do that again). After having my teeth whitened with the Opalescence Boost they said that my teeth will change colors up until 10 days after the procedure. Well, it's been 11 days and my teeth are only about 2 or 3 shades whiter. Which is a little disappointing considering I paid $450. To keep them this way I've decided to use a teeth whitening tooth paste (Arm & Hammer Advance White) through out the next year. Then, in a year I'll try some other tooth whitening procedure (maybe the trays) as I do not believe a person should whiten more than once a year. Regardless of what the greedy dentists say.

Basically the product did not work on my teeth and I did not see any shade difference at all.

Wow! I got a great result in an hour! Very pleased with this product. Did have just a bit of sensitivity, but it was not bad and it only lasted a couple of hours. Well worth it for the results I got!

For the price you pay this is NOT WORTH spending your money!! I did not get the results I anticipated and the pain and teeth sensitivity was UNBELIEVABLE!!! I think I got the same results if not better from my at home bleaching trays.

I decided to go with the in-office procedure. While my teeth are whiter, I did not get the results I was hoping for. I'm two or three shades whiter. I did experience some pain on my lower front teeth after the procedure. The pain lasted for about 12 hours. I wouldn't mind doing the in-office procedure again down the road if the price is right.
