The BriteSmile To Go Whitening Pen is a new product from the makers of the BriteSmile One Hour In-Office Teeth Whitening System. The Whitening Pen uses a 5.25% hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel delivered from its brush. BriteSmile To Go acts both as a follow-up whitener, applied to maintain the salon treatment, or as a stand-alone whitening product for at-home use.
As you might expect, the brush-on teeth whitening involves brushing a hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel onto the surface of teeth, one tooth at a time. This brushing activity is similar to the way polish is applied to fingernails. Once the brush-on gel has been applied to a tooth's surface it solidifies so to form a somewhat invisible film.
The BriteSmile company did not hold back on the packaging design of this product. The packaging looks very expensive! The BriteSmile To Go pen was created for the luxury market and was made to look appealing around makeup counters in high end department stores. It can be found at Nordstrom’s throughout the United States.
Brush-on teeth whitening first appeared on the over-the-counter marketplace in 2002 when Colgate introduced their product Colgate Simply White. Since then they have introduced another brush-on tooth whitener, named Colgate Simply White Night (2003). Crest has also entered the field of brush-on teeth whitening with their product named Crest Night Effects (2003).
