Celebrity Smile Review

These scams are popping up like wild flowers. We are having a hard time keeping up with them!

Celebrity Smile advertises the trial offer of this product for $4.95. On checkout, the bottom of the page states in ultra small fine print "If you are happy with the product do nothing and your credit card will be charged an additional $39.95 approximately 14 days after your receive your trial shipment. In addition, approximately 30 days after you order your risk-free trial and about every 30 days thereafter, we will automatically send you an additional 1 month supply. The credit card you provide today will be billed the low price of $39.95 plus $4.95 shipping & handling for a total of $44.90 when each new product ships." I wonder how many people they have scammed thus far.

Other Observations

  • They falsely claim to be America’s #1 Selling Tooth Whitener.
  • They claim to be awarded “Best New Discovery in Tooth Whitening”. Who awarded them?
  • They falsely claim that this is the secret that celebrities use.
  • Their live chat assistant will paste canned answers like “We now only have a few trial offers left. Plus if you and sign up through me I can offer you a bonus $3 discount on shipping!”
  • The product was never mentioned on any of the listed “as seen on” sites.
  • They say it is possible to get up to “5 shades of whiteness in 1 hour.” That's impossible.
  • The product is very similar to the other scam brush-on whitener "Celebrity Sexy Smile"

I tried charging it on my prepaid credit card and it did not take it. I figured the # made them aware it wasn't regular card or something. I was billed initial order charges plus two additional months. I did not receive a months supply from the second charge on my account. I was given a USPS tracking number from Cathy's Teeth Whitening Success, which turned out to be a bogus tracking #. What a dummy that I fell for this!!!

HUGE SCAM! I called and canceled immediately, they charged me anyway and when I called again they told me it was too late to cancel. Even though they admitted they noticed where I had called the same day I received the product!

I got sucked in by the 4.95 trial offer price and then ended up having to call several numbers to get this cancelled, plus I was "automatically" signed up and charged for 2 other offers that cost 29-49 each month. I did get most of the charges on my credit card reversed, but still am out about 80 bucks.
I cancelled Celebrity Smile in February and then recieved another shipment in May--had to really argue about getting the charges refunded.
I am unable to find the original site that I went to, wanted to see if the "fine print" info was there. I am usually much more cautious about these offers, but this one got me!

Wish I had seen this website a month ago! I never saw the fine print about orders coming every 30 days until my first order arrived. The rep I talked to was nice--promised to to cancel. It remains to be seen if I've been suckered for additional shipments. I'm glad some people like the product. My experience is that my jaws ache before the gunk is dry and I slobber down my chin for 15 minutes. Ug.

Actually the product was okay to use. However, you have to SMILE far too long. THEN WATCH THE BILLING ON YOUR CREDIT CARD go from the $5 trial cost to a $40 charge for the sample. And when you get the billing, they have already shipped you another package and the next billing of $40+ is on the way. Or, I was told you can keep the package and they will reduce the charge by $15........BIG DEAL. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!!!

I wish I had read this website first. I, too, ordered the $1.95 trial product and cancelled after using the product. Just got my credit card bill and there is a charge of $39.95. The customer service rep told me that it was a 14-day trial and that I only cancelled future shipments. Boy have I been suckered and wasted money. Lesson learned!

Glad to see this. I will need this as proof of this SCAM.

I got charged 84.73 by these losers! The product smells rank and I opened the tube, took one whiff and holy crap. Sent email to the customer service to cancel the order and still getting charged

GOD I WISH I HAD SEEN THIS SITE FIRST.

Also, that Cathy Anderson ad got me...wanted to tell you to order 2 products ...what a mess.

If i could figure out that site, I would go back and leave my real comments!!!

The worse thing about this whole mess is, there is NO paperwork in your shipment to help you contact these people and cancel. Took and act of congress to just figure out the website information for customer service, what a JOKE.

This company is a scam and is being sued by the Arizona Attorney General. I was Charged once by Celebsmile for 1.95, 1.99 by a company called Teeth Whitining Now, and finally 39.95 by Celebsmile. Unlike some of you I did not order the product. This company insisted I orderd their product. Though I did not order the product and even thought I was charged I did not receive any product. So like everyone else they wether you order it or not chances are you will not receive it you will get horrible customer service and will have to really fight with them to try and get your money back which in the end you will not. Report them to the AZ Attourney General http://www.azag.gov/AllComplaints.html and also the Federal Trade Commision https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and hopefully they will have to suffer legal concequences for this blatent internet credit card fraud.

I just got suckered right before I found this website. I ordered the free trial with the promo code for $1.95. I got the confirmation # and kept checking my email and NEVER got one. I immediately checked my paypal acct and was shocked to see a $1.95 AND a 59.95 charge!!! I flipped! I got on the phone with paypal AND did the online chat with some Annie chick to find out WHY they charged me the extra 59.95. She tells me that it is just a "pending" charge and that it won't be on there and no money was taken out. BULL...it is gone! I get off the phone with paypal and I tell Annie to flat out cancel me, I don't want the trial, I don't want anything they have and put my money back in my acct. Here's what she says...
Annie: You have been removed from the auto ship program and you will not be receiving any further shipments. As per the Terms and Conditions you agreed to before placing your order, your card will be charged the discounted rate of $59.95 for the first shipment of Dazzle Whitening teeth after the completion of the trial period.

WHAT???? No way, NO charges! So I call them and get Steven on the phone. He cancels everything, I tells me I will get all my money back in the acct and I won't get the sample. GOOD, I don't want crap from you people. NOW, I have to wait 2 -3 days for all of my money to be put back in my acct??? If they can take it in seconds, they can put it back in seconds, right? And this Cathy Anderson person with her little blog...that's where I found this info. Apparently, she has blogs in the city where you live! She has blogs everywhere and they come up near you and she says that's where she lives! What a SCAM. She tells you to use 2 different products for the full effect. People, beware!!! I will be back to post if and when my money is put back in to my acct.
I saw the ad in my Comcast email sidebar ads area. I WILL be contacting Comcast on this one, too!

SCAM SCAM SCAM - BEWARE!!!! DO NOT ORDER THIS PRODUCT OR ITS FREE TRIAL!!! This company charged my account without any authorization - cancelled before trial period ened!!! I also recieved a funny phone call stating that I had ordered something else and when I told the caller that I had not ordered anything and I give NO authorization to debit my account, the woman said "no you listen to me, you ordered this product and it will be charged to you". I ended the call and called my bank to close the card. VERY UNFORTUNATELY - my bank screwed up and did not close the card as I asked. So, now i have 2 charges (from who I do not kow, only that they spawned from ordering a free trial of this teeth whitening) totaling $100. My bank has since credited the full amount back to my account, but not until I had spent over an hour on the phone going back and forth.... I now will be filing a report with the Better Business Bereau, as well as taking my account to another financial institute. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM, THE ONLY WAY TO WHITEN YOUR TEETH IS THROUGH YOUR DENTISTS OFFICE.

Well, I THOROUGHLY read the entire page (supposed fine print and ALL!) but there WAS NO FINE PRINT! Not until after I ORDERED anyway! Then all of the sudden it said that I owed and would be charged unless I sent it back within 14 days from that date! (Even though product had not gotten to me!)

So....I called. Talked with a woman who said that if I had returned it by the 4th of this month (June), or could PROVE that it was on it's WAY back to them (proof via tracking #....), then she would cancell it out and I wouldn't be charged ANYTHING! Otherwise, I was looking at $80+ in fees!

So....I went to the post office, paid $17.50 to EXPRESS SHIP it back to them (of course I tried it for a few days before though), and had tracking # and all.

Called them back and told them that it was in transit back to them, and that I had my tracking # as proof, and expect to not be charged. The DIPSHIT, RUDE AS CAN BE asshole said, "We're charging you anyway. Don't like it? Tough. I have your credit card #, and there isn't anything you can do about it!"

I asked to speak with a manager/supervisor, and he BLATANTLY REFUSED, saying that I was going to pay whether I liked it or not, and that it didn't matter what I did, he wouldn't cancel my order NOW or EVER, for that matter (so I would keep being charged!).

So now, not only does he have my "trial" of the product itself, he has charged my account almost $100, and I am out $17.50 in shipping fees!

I'm PISSED and calling as soon as they open again in a few hours to shit down their throats - and calling my bank to cancel my card/account!

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!

This is a scam. Be very careful. They make you fool by asking for your credit card # to charge a small fee for shipping a sample. My card so far is charged over $300 by this company under many different names.

If you go to the web site "Cathy’s Teeth Whitening Success" and look at the "About me" section it lists her home town in bold letters. What a coincidence she lives in the same town I do, Smithtown, NY. I betcha if you bring it up that the web site claims that she's from a town in your local area. Whatever town can be ascertained from your ISP.

I just found out my credit card was charged 4 different times. These teeth whitening companies are totally scam. But let's stop complaining and work together to stop them. This is what you should do. First call you credit card company or your bank to dispute the charge, then call National Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357 to report the scam. They are looking for the pattern of the business, so if everyone starts calling them, our voices will be heard. Then you can call your state Attorney General to file a consumer complaint. I think if we all work together and make loud noises, those companies will be investigated, and hopefully put out of business.

I got the celebrity brightener and had the same result. I barely got them to cancel the auto ship for the following months. It did nothing to whiten them and if you have crowns, they do not whiten. But think about the scam. If they received $4.00 from each person drawn in, the will make millions on that alone. This needs to be reported to the Attorney General of your state. Just type in ATG.gov, pick your state, then register your complaint in the bottom box. They will assign someone to your case and they will get back to you. They are great. The Postmaster General of our states have jurisdiction over this mail like snail mail I found out.

well I just got off the phone with both dazzle white and celebrity smile to cancel my orders and I don't know how sucessful I was but I do have a bit of help for oothers, One of the dazzle white supervisors name is Tom walter. The rep I spoke to was rude, but I was very firm and threatened with my lawyer, he assured me that my "order" will be cancelled in 24- 48 hours, I plan on calling as much as I can to insure it is cancelled. I called back and asked for Tom Walter but he is "busy". I will call again and ask for the same rep. Try to speak to them person to person and tell them thats how you want to talk, not customer to employee, and try to put them in your shoes, it often works! They probally make 6-8 bucks an hour themselves and know how hard things can be.

When calling them always get the reps FULL name, employee number, supervisor's FULL name and number and any direct numbers you can. ALWAYS ask for a supervisor! WHen calling back demand that you speak to the same reps. give the employee number. Get cancellation numbers RMA numbers, tracking numbers, any numbers you can, including ship dates.

I spoke with celebrity and the rep was nice, and I said I wanted to speak to him as a human being not as an employee, and I used his name often and asked him to please give me his word that this would not be chared to my account any further, I really cannot afford to be scammed any further, he then gave me an RMA number, one that I didn't know I needed and reduced my S&H to a 1.99. He gave me his word as a person not as an employee, funny he paused a while after I asked him to give me his word, one person to another, before he gave me the RMA. I plan on calling again. He assured me I have 21 days not 14 to return it and I should get the product soon. We shall see just how honest he is.

I plan on calling my bank and telling them to stop any further payments to these companies. It will be unauthorized.

Lord I can't believe I was so DUMB, I guess I just want to believe everyone is honest in the world , it's time to stop being a pollyanna. Kinda sad really. That other human beings that probally couldn't afford to be scammed this way, are willing to scam others that can't afford it either.

THIS IS A COMPLETE SCAM! Right after I ordered it (which was like at 11pm) I saw the whole customer service thing and frequently asked questions like Why was I charged an extra $44.85? And why can't I cancel my order? I started looking around and found this site. THANK YOU!!! to everyone who reviewed this and let me know it is complete BS. I started freaking out, transferred all my money into a different account and called to cancel my card AS SOON as the bank opened this morning.

So I'm Out $4.95 and got a new debit checking card.
As soon as the charge disappears and isn't on HOLD, and my new card comes I'll feel much better. I love my bank. =]

Sorry that you guys lost more than I did. Hopefully these frauds will be caught soon and I hope you guys can get your money back.

If you really want this BS product order it on a prepaid card/gift card with only like $5.00 so they can keep charging it all they want but there won't be any money to steal. Or if you're willing to cancel your card go through all the hassle and get a new one. Otherwise skip it. This is complete BS and I hope no one else loses anymore money.

Mix some baking soda and peroxide together and brush your teeth with that. Or buy Crest White Strips. Much Cheaper and won't leave you wondering if some asshole is stealing from your bank account.

Just got scammed, saw a ad on yahoo that advertised a site that was a review site just like this one claiming the celebrity whitening was BY FAR the best system availabe.
I wasn't going to pay the $50 until I was that there was a rebate for the full amount by "clicking on the star"
free trial, NO HARM IN THAT RIGHT?
NO WRONG, they immediately charged my account for $100 stating that I had to send in all of this crap after I got the product.
I go to order and it says I only have 7min to finish or I wont get it for free.
Which makes me feel like I cant go look around at another site.

Then I come to this site, see scam all over celebrity smile and almost cry.
I go to their website and try to cancel everything because I obviously dont even ant this crap if it doesnt work.
Come to find out tha you cant cancel until you send bck the prodct, which must be within 14 days, even tho it wont get to you for 7-10 days not counting weekends.....

SCAMMED.
:(((((
