Unbelievably disappointed with this product!! I had to stop using it after about 16 treatments as it was really starting to burn my gums. I was very careful not to put any on my gums but they do recommend a liberal application to the teeth so getting it on the gums seems inevitable. Even after 16 treatment I saw absolutely no change. After 24 hrs, my gums are still bleeding when I brush and are super sensitive.
Needless to say, this product will be returned - and hopefully my gums will stop bleeding soon! Too bad I didn't at least get whiter teeth :(

It works, but it is a pain to use. Very frustrating. I will stick to my Rembrant 2 hour whitening.

I used the Luster Tooth Whitening System (not the kind with the light) just the gel for 7 days, and it worked great, I smoked for over 10 years, and I drink coffee a lot, and my teeth look several shades lighter, I have gotten alot of compliments on how bright my smile is. Definitely worth the $19.99.
I highly recommend this product to anyone.

This item looks a lot more fun than it really is. Having you to repeat directions 1 - 3 at least 10 times is ridiculous. I saw absolutely no whitening of my teeth except two very small white dots on my two front teeth. My gums on the bottom are white and they hurt, it has been almost 24 hours since the procedure.

I am returning this product. I am not satisfied. It is a waste of TIME and MONEY. "One hour of HASSLE. One hour of getting up rinsing, pasting, then lighting, laying down. Two minutes later you repeat, then repeat, then repeat, etc.

Below if a breakdown of my experience:

1. The light seems to be more a marketing gimmick that a critical part of the whitening process. If it actually does anything, you should document exactly “what it does” in the enclosed instructions and on your website.

2. The enclosed instructions recommend avoiding things like coffee and tea for 24 hours after using the product. However, there is no explanation as to why 24 hours. I mean shouldn’t you always avoid coffee and tea if you want your teeth to remain white?

3. When looking at my teeth after 20 treatments, I found myself questioning if my teeth were really any whiter. Part of me wanted to believe my teeth were whiter, but my brain was telling me they were the same color.

4. The enclosed color chart is too dark. Even my teeth, which are in need of whitening, matched the lightest color on the chart.

That pretty much sums it up. Cheers.

I used this and that rembrandt 2 hour white, in 2 days I am 11 shades whiter. (went from a 14 to a 3, according to Lusters Scale) I can't believe it actually worked, teeth/gums are a little sore....most likely caused I used both of these things but hey 11 shades in 2 days for less then $60 I can't complain!

I guess if ya wan2 brighten up your smile in 2 days use both of these systems and you'll be shocked by how much whiter your teeth are..... I didnt even use the entire pack of either product either almost all of the rembrandt and maybe 1/2 of the luster blue light thing..... The only downside of the blue light thing make sure you have a bib on you drool all over yourself haha

I thought the system worked quite well. I'm a smoker so I wanted to remove some stains on my teeth. Asides from the stains my teeth are quite light in color (it was somewhere between a 5 or 6) and now they are a (2 or 3). The stains have faded quite a bit but are not completely gone. I did not find the process too frustrating and I didn't think the drooling was a big issue. I've previously used trays thinking I could watch TV while wearing them but the taste and the drooling forced me to run back and forth from the TV to the sink (not to mention the sensitivity). At least this product was honest about keeping you near a sink.

I have tried just about EVERYTHING there is to whiten teeth. Crest white strips, gels, and all that stuff. One day I decided to do some online research on tooth whitening products. I then went to buy the first product I found which was Luster. Instead of buying the one with the light, I bought the Weekend whitening System which is basically just the same as the 1-hour refill. I used it for 3 days and followed the EXACT instructions which is basically use mouthwash, gel, repeat. After 3 days my teeth were noticably white. I took a before and after picture and my teeth WERE infact 6 shades brighter. I am not a smoker, or coffee/tea drinker so it wasn't a problem keeping my teeth white. I now buy this system once a month as it's cheap and totally worth it!

NOTE: My friend is a smoker and I recommended this product to her, she didn't but the light just like me but her results were 3 shades lighter rather than 6 but it still made a diffrence so if your a smoker or coffee drinker this product may not give you a 6 shade diffrence but it will give you at least 2 shades diffrence.

I thought that this whitening product did an ok job of whitening my teeth. I can't expect a $40 product to do a professional job. Content.

I truly believe that this products works best for people who have whitened their teeth before.....meaning, I think it removes surface stains best. I had my teeth professionally whitened about 6 years ago and the very first time I used Luster, just ONE application, all those 6 years of stain just dissolved. However, for a first time whitener.....good luck with that. Nothing beats a professional whitening. You may get a few shades whiter, but these products are best for quick refreshers.

Waste of money. I work in the entertainment business and wanted to find a cheaper way of whitening my teeth besides visiting my dentist. I picked this up for about 40 bucks. I did it for an hour. Hardly saw a difference at all. Frusterated, want my money back. Would rather use the Crest white strips, those work better and the process isn't such a hassle.

No sensitivity while using the product but was sensitive a few hours later. Not worth it as there wasnt much of a difference in the color of my teeth and any slight difference has now dissappeared!

It works. I tried it and found it to ge effective.

OK, first of all if you have not used other products then you have no room to talk, i have used many different products and this one takes the cake. there was very little secitivity and it works, if you cant hold a light in your mouth for two min at a time then dont use this. put the light in your mouth hold it with your lips and you wont drool. take a break in between each treatment and you will see results. i hated having to keeep strips on my teeth for hours, they fall off and there not good for sensitivity. try it if you dont like it save your recept or send it back and they will give you your full money back. enjoy

I just used it. Worked good for me in 5 treatments... My teeth weren't that bad off to start.

The light if you put it in your mouth helps with containing the drool factor during treatment.

Just used it yesterday. Several complaints. First of all I doubt light does anything really, and I think it's just marketing technique. Which works, all right, without light I'd just look ridiculous, light kinda makes it fun.
Secondly, the stripe included in the kit to determine shade that is ridiculous, since every circle to which you have to compare your teeth is painted with the gradient (sic)! Overall process is a bit painful, I'm not a fan of drooling for an hour, but if you have someone to help you paint your teeth (my wife did it for me several times out of whole 20) it's much less painful. After about 11 tries my wife (she gave me the kit as a present) checked out my teeth and with a skeptical smile said "may be I should've looked at your teeth before you started". At the end we both aknowledged teeth looked whiter, but nothing spectacular. I've used "Celebrity Smile" product before, and that appeared to work better for me.

I am soooo delighted with my results! About 10 years ago, my mother-in-law asked, "What happened to your beautiful white teeth?" My husband is a tea and coffee drinker and I conformed to his habits because I love him. When I got a filling a few years ago, the dentist matched it to the yellow grey color my teeth had become. After Luster 1-hour, that filling looks dark and dingy. I began at a 13 and worse - the root of my teeth were darker and yellower than the tops but now they are so much better and lighter and very little yellow. I did 10 treatments the first day and got really excited at the results. Now each evening I am doing one treatment where I take the time to coat each tooth. I read that someone said the wash tastes bad but I strongly disagree. It is quite a weak solution, what is it - peppermint and peroxide? It has a pleasant taste to me and is not as strong as Listerine, doesnt make my mouth tingle. I LOVE the way my teeth feel so clean. I read on the internet that blue lights can kill cavity causing bacteria and I feel like my mouth chemistry is in better balance after using this product. I was concerned about getting that fake white color that some people get after whitening their teeth. My teeth still look real, just without the stains and yellow. Thanks for this great product.
My teeth are extremely sensitive, years ago I tried a whitening system and could not make it past the first treatment - so I had given up hope of getting rid of the gross colors. Not only do I not feel any sensitivity, but I feel this product has IMPROVED my mouth's health. That's a good deal.

I was not expecting much of a change, but it did whiten my teeth the six shades that it promised. It also took care of some nasty stains I had from smoking. I broke it down into shorter sessions so it was not to much of an inconvenience. However I did have to stuff my mouth with toilet paper to keep from drooling. I really like the product and found the whole procedure rather funny and entertaining.

I noticed a difference after a two-minute session and was shocked. No sensitivity. I don't know why people would feel a need to hold the light up for an hour. Very surprised in in how nicely this product worked.

I read reviews that suggested that Luster is the best bang for your buck. I purchased it and used it the full (I think) 20 times. I could tell a little bit of a difference but my teeth are pretty white to begin with. My biggest complaint is that my teeth were super sensitive the day after and I could not eat. Also the results seemed to fade after a week or so. Oh yea, and the process is a pain in the butt!!! Holding the light for that long is just annoying and it gets messy from where you start to drool holding your mouth open to shine the light.

I will not recommend this product. it's true that the product caused no sensitivities and worked for the first few days. But within one week after I stopped using the product, my teeth went back fully to it's original color. Do notice that I don't drink coffee nor tea nor coke.

I brought the $40 kit and the light came on - once. And never again. I've switched batteries and all it does it beep.

It recommends 20 treatments in 1 hour, but after 3 or 4 my teeth were noticeably whiter which really surprised me. I actually decided to wait until tomorrow to do more treatments because i was worried my teeth would be overly unnaturally white and look weird.
