Whitening Now Review

The Whitening Now teeth whitening system is a scam. You will see this product advertised on the internet through fake testimonials posted on blogs. While the product may certainly be better than the scam brush-on whiteners, the company uses far too many illicit marketing tactics to make it legitimate. Their website will try to lure you in with their free sample offer - you will actually be signing up for a month-to-month supply that will be billed at $78.93 per month. The product has also been found to use the name "Bright Teeth Whitening System".

Their terms and conditions state the following: "Upon the expiration of the Free Trial Period, You will be automatically enrolled in Our Home Delivery Plan, and Your credit card will be billed for the full cost of the Product that You ordered (i.e., a thirty day supply). At present, the full cost of the Product is $78.93."

Our Observations

  • Whitening Now uses the fake testimonial blog cathysteeth[dot]com to dupe consumers.
  • Whitening Now claims to be the leading teeth whitening system available today. This is not true.
  • Whitening Now claims that their system has been used by dentists and spas worldwide for years, and just recently became available directly to consumers. This is not true. No dentist has ever used the Whitening Now system.
  • Their website uses a timer to create a false sense of urgency. They do not want you to read the terms and conditions.

I was JUST about to buy this teeth whitening product for Whitening Now, but for some reason i lost the page, and i tried searching for it and i found this page. After reading all the comments , I'AM utterly relieved I lost the page!! Thank you alllll!!!!!! I went back just to check out the Terms and Conditions, and in them, it states that you will be charged with 78$. So advice for everyone buying or ordering things on the internet, ALWAYS read the Terms and Conditions.

I got the product last year in the spring time. I canceled the product cause it didn't work for me it made my teeth sensitive and weakened my enamel. Just yesterday I received a letter in the mail saying I owe $130.00 even though i canceled before the end of the free trail. If anyone says this is not a scam I honestly feel they must work for this company. However after a whole year I owe now I'm blessed to have not noticed anything out of my account but they have threatened to send this to a 3rd party collection agency. I am going to let better buisness know as well as the general. How do these people get away with this?

Whitening Now is a complete scam!!!!!!! Do not try it!!!!!! My trial offer was not $6.99 but $78.93! I recieved the product twice in the mail but was charged four times in different amounts ranging from the $78.93 to $83.95. Got absolutely know where when I called the company. Every person I talked to Trisha George, Roger, John Paul all sound American by their names but they all sounded like foreigners on the phone with accents that were extermely difficult to understand. I was told I would be refunded $40.00 and a supervisor would call me back within 72 hours. Ha Ha Ha never happened. I had to go to my bank fill out fraud forms and close my checking account and reopen a new one!!! This has been a complete nightmare. Something that took me a minute to send for has now cost me hundreds of dollars and a ton of time informing creditors of my change in account! This was a huge lesson learned. Very smart of the person who bought a prepaid visa card with a very few dollars on to purchase this with. I never thought of that! Great idea! You got them!!!!! Be Aware of similar offers. My bank told me they get customers in everyday who were lured in by lucrative trial offers! Don't do it!

Gosh you people should know not to give out your credit card to these free trials especially when there is a timer on the site rushing you for your information. Here is the trick to get around the scam. You go a pick up a preloaded credit card, like at CVS or Walgreens. Pick up the card and just add $5.00 on it and use that card to make your trial purchase like I did. I received my trial and of course it sux so I had the same experience when I cancelled that all of you experienced. However, they have no funds to charge against because there was only $5.00 on the MC to begin with which they had no idea. So I said fine and there have been no future charges because prepaid cc do not accept the charge if the funds are not already available. Try this next time you want to do a trial. It works.

"Easy White", "EZ White", "Teeth Whitening Now" and all other names of this product associated with AdEx Media is a 100% scam. I have been billed six times now, ranging from $78 to $90 for a product I have never tried. This is the first, only and last time I will ever try a product advertised on a major website (MSN). Even though I have called "Easy White" and "Teeth Whitening Now" to cancel shipments, a total of 6 boxes sent in a three month period, I was just charged $90 again directly out of my checking account. I have notified my bank and had to cancel my credit/debit card as well as my checking account. This is an outrage! I would like to know how a company is allowed to blatantly scam people with no legal repercussions. This needs to end now. If there are any lawyers reading this, you have an easy case against AdEx Media. Please feel free to sue them on our behalf. I would be more than happy to be a part of a class action suit against AdEx Media.

This is an outrageous scam that the credit card companies, especially Visa collaborate with. Their site states that it is a free trial, but you can't try it for free because you pay for it on the day you sign up for your free trial and you receive the product more than 30 days after you have already paid for it. You can't cancel the product after the 14 day period from the day you asked for the free trial. So, even if you cancelled during the 14 days before you receive the product...you will never have a free trial. They have chared us nearly 84 dollars three times and we have received nothing except the free trial that arrived about 45 days after we signed up. If you call, they will not give you a Return Authorization number (required to return it). Visa, says they are ligimate because of their terms of condition, because Visa will take all the money they can get. This is a scam and it is surprizing that neither the US government nor Visa will do anything but turn a blind eye.

I DO AGREE THAT THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!
They give you a 14 day free trial and when i called to cancel it i spoke to an Indian guy and he didnt want to cancel my free trial. he keeps telling me how well it works blah blah blah...then he says i could extended the free trial for you. ...Then i call again and speak to anotherindian guy and he says the same thing and wants to extend the trial again, i tell him i dont want to extend it i just want to CANCEL it.*he refuses to cancel*..i call again for the 3rd time and speak to a female indian lady and she does the same thing and tell me to return the unuse product and to pay shipping myself if i want to cancel. but then she refuses to cancel and said she will just extend the free trial longer and hung up.

This company should be ashamed of themselves.

I called to cancel within the original 14 day trial period and was bullied into extending my trial period by another 14 days. I thought that they had a fair point that perhaps the product required more time to work, so I agreed to extend my free trial period by another 14 days. I was told that if I was still not satisfied, I could cancel at that time and I would still be within the trial period.

After giving the product another 14 days to work, I called on the last day of my extended free trial to cancel as I was still not seeing any results and I had used the entire product. I was told that I had to return the unused portion (there was no unused portion- it was sent in a 10cc syringe) or I would be charged $78.93. I was told that this was in the terms and conditions. I had very carefully read the terms and conditions and it did not state this. In fact, it had said that if you canceled within your trial period, you need not return the product. I stated that I had used the product per their strenuous recommendations, but that I could return the empty container. They stated that they would have to charge me $78.93 if I returned the empty container and that the only way that they would allow me to cancel without paying this amount would be to charge me a "discounted" amount of $18.93. Reluctantly, I agreed to this while still stating that this was unscrupulous and that I would be reporting them to the BBB.

The rep would not allow me to speak with a manager despite repeated requests and only very reluctantly did he give me the address of the company to send a written complaint- after asking 15 times. Count em- 15! In addition, the cancellation representative was extremely aggressive and rude.

I was able to find the original terms and conditions page that I had saved shortly after hanging up and it stated:

"If you are NOT satisfied with the Product and wish to cancel future deliveries of the Product, You must call Our Customer Service Department toll-free at 1-866-964-1011 prior to the expiration of the Free Trial Period and cancel Your order and any future deliveries. You need not return the Product to AWR if You cancel within the Free Trial Period."

When I called back to state that I had found the actual terms and conditions and read this portion of them to Michael Thompson- the extremely aggressive and rude rep- I was told that I did not cancel during the free trial period because I had agreed to extend my free trial period! I stated, "no, today is the last day of my free trial period. It was extended." He refused to allow me to speak with a manager, gave me some story about his supervisor being on the phone with someone else, and then finally agreed to give my phone number to the "Back End Dept." for a call back within 72 hours after about 45 mins of arguing with me on the phone and refusing my many requests to have my call escalated so that I could speak with someone with more authority. When I asked what the Back End Dept was, he stated, "It's not your business to know what it is."

Overall, the company is unethical, the product does NOT work, and the service is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced in my life. If you wish to spend all day being shouted at by someone in India, by all means, go ahead and try this product. As for me, I will be publicizing my horrible experience with this company to as many people as I can to try to get the word out.

After being charged with so much money I visited the site again and found that if you click on the Terms & Conditions and Refund and Exchange Policy it pretty much tells you Everything on there. So many of us have made this mistake. I called for cancellation and will now take it as a lesson learned. Hopefully our comments, reviews, and complaints have been "popular" enough to attract attention of others who are interested in the product and reduce the future number of scams...

To anonymous who so critically bashed everyone (except two) on May 2, 2009. I found three (3) errors in your short dissertation. Anyway, with your obvious intelligence and education, you should be proud that you were able to get a high-paying job at a call center. How proud you must be. In response to your response, these types of companies do prey upon those of us stupid enough to take the bait. I will take my loss and and learn from it.

Let me start off by saying that I completely agree with anonymous above. Before anyone ever lets out their credit card info, it requires common sense to ask questions. Before I ordered the whitening product, it was very clear what would be charged to my credit card. If any of you have ever went to a dentist to ask about teeth whitening, you would be charged a lot more than what was charged by this company. And the convenience of this is awesome, especially if you have a life. I don't have a before and after yet, but I can tell you it works. For those of you who have negative comments about being scammed, shame on you. There is no scam in this product. It's a product that works.

PLEASE BE AWARE...I ordered this product under the belief that I would be charged no more then $5.00 for Shipping/Delivery...imagine my surprise when I got a bill 2 weeks later for almost $80 ($78.93). When I called I got some dude in India who I could barely understand and proceeded to argue with him for the next 30 minutes. Long story short, they will NOT refund your money, you CANNOT speak to a supervisor, You CANNOT cancel the next shipments until you've received the shipment for that month...this means you must make yet another call to India and suffer through an additional 10-30 minutes of them trying to convince you to NOT cancel. THIS IS A SCAM...do NOT buy this product. Mine was delivered under the name of "BrightTeeth whitening System"

Product is a decent product but way too strong. If left on for more than 7-10 minutes it can burn your gums. Deceptive business practices and hassles when trying to cancel make this a big scam. The amount of the product given is more than enough to warrent ANY need of monthly shipments.

"I am rather disappointed with all but two of the previous posts. The fact that half of you can not spell to save your life makes me no more inclined to be sympathetic to your plight. Brandi P of Mesa AZ, you're alright... Anonymous who posted on 04/04/09, you are in good standing too."

Did you know Einstien couldn't spell? Do you think he was an idiot?

If the company was legit they would refund your money no questions asked! If we Americans have a problem it is that we are too trusting and want to believe in our fellow Americans. I understand working with the public gives you a different perspective but it looks more to me like you work for this company. Either that or you just think you are better than everyone else. Why else would you go to such lengths to deffend a company that is obviously so fraudulent in the way they do business?
Yes I too got scammed. Yes shame on me for trusting them. And no I can't spell either. Get over it. That is not an excuse for them to continue doing business.
I would suggest all of you go here to file a complaint.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!! Whitening Now! Baloney. What a scam. No FREE trial!! I learned to ALWAYS google ANYTHING I want to order online. This company won't honor a cancellation request for refund. And the operators in Sri Lanka or wherever the H- - - they are very hard to understand. Offered a $20 credit towards the $78.93 withdrawn from my account. Expensive lesson. If the $20 even shows up I will be shocked. Should have known, the actual price is butied so far down in the fine print you can't find it! SCAM SCAM SCAM.

I'm not sure cancelling your card will solve any future billing issues from this company. Did you give them the three digit code on the back of your credit card? If so, I beleive this may give them the power to automatically bill you "monthly" charges (and yes even to a closed account) if this was part of the original agreement. Many companies try to "slip" this montly fee into the conversation (or in small print) so that you are not even aware of what they are doing. It is with these monthly charges that they get you...You may want to speak to your credit card company to verify this. If you do not get any future charges from them, then great...but don't be surprised if you get a statement from your "closed account" with this charge.

I wish I would have looked for these reviews before I "fell" for the FREE Trap. Teeth Whitening Now says to trust our company..... yet they offer the FREE TRIAL with trap attached. It's a 14 day trial, and then they charge you full price if you do not call and cancel. The TRICK is that the 14 days starts from the day you order on line, not the day you receive. So, you really only have maybe 7 days as it takes 5-7 days at least to get it. So, by the time you make sense of things, your card is charged, not once, but twice, because by the time you get your statement, the "new month date" has passed and now you're in for another $80 !! Try calling! They say "we understand" but it clearly says 14 days, etc....They won't do anything about it. I am ready to file a complaint with the Attorney General or some comsumer fraud division. In the meantime I will be disputing the charges with my card company. Buyer BEWARE!!!!!

Great knowledge, but unfortunately it is too late. I am now out $4.99 for shipping of one of their products and 6.99 for shipping the second product. I would smile at such as small loss were it not for the fact that this company got $315.72 from my bank account by deducting $78.93 four times on the same day. Shame on them! They refused to cancel my subscription and promised a 60 per cent discount on my next shipment so that I would really appreciate their product. When told I had not even opened the first product and did not want it or anymore of it, they said the four deductions from my account was their error and if I canceled before the refund to my account was made, they would not be able to give me a refund. A call to the attorney general is next; since my five calls to this company have gone nowhere.

I just found out that my credit card has been billed four different times. This is what we should do. First call credit card company to dispute the payment, then call National Trade Commission (1-877-382-4357) to report the scam. They are looking for the pattern of the business. We need to make loud noises to have them investigate those companies. Then call your state Attorney General to file a consumer complaint. We need to work together to get rid those companies.

Cathysteeth was an obvious scam when I noticed that the address changed from two different computers and that the before and after photos were the same picture, but Photoshopped. Both pictures have the same blemishes and the lips are clenched open in the exact same way. Not possible to have been taken weeks apart, yet having the same skin blemish after several weeks.
