KoR Whitening Deep Bleaching Review

The KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System is a clinically-developed and tested teeth whitening method that claims to improve upon many of the unresolved problems of older systems, including: impermanence, failure to correct deep intrinsic staining (such as tetracycline stains) and sensitivity.

The KöR System has been developed by Dr. Rod Kurthy, a recognized authority in the field of cosmetic dentistry and a consultant and advisor to several dental manufacturing companies. Dr. Kurthy has been an active participant in the field of teeth whitening for over 30 years and is a sought-after speaker and author on the topic.

How Does KöR Whitening Work?

All bleaching systems work on the simple principle that teeth are whitened in direct proportion to the strength of the whitening agent and the length of time the agent remains in contact with the teeth.

KöR Whitening is a blend of in-office and at-home treatments that give dentists greater freedom to control the strength and duration of bleaching used in the whitening process. Typically, the procedure involves two in-office bleaching appointments a week apart, while the patient uses an innovative custom-molded mouth tray with whitening gel between the office visits.

For the in-office appointments, a strong 9% hydrogen peroxide solution is used, while a 16% carbamide peroxide solution is used for the home tray. Depending on the discretion of the dentist, either the same 9% Hydrogen Peroxide or DeepBleachingMax (27% Hydrogen Peroxide) is used on the second office visit.

Fresh Bleach Makes a Difference

Several basic improvements give credence to the KöR system claim of superiority. First, the whitening agents that are used in this system are fresher when the dentist receives them, so they’re stronger when they reach the patients’ teeth. Dr. Kurthy discovered that whitening gels that are constantly kept under refrigeration start out with more potency and effectiveness, and maintain their effectiveness for many hours. So, when a dentist receives the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System, it has come thru a completely refrigerated manufacturing and delivery protocol, before being refrigerated at the doctor’s own office.

Enhanced Sensitivity Protection

Refrigeration also makes a difference to patients with sensitivity issues. Because the bleach stays fresher, longer - it doesn’t need to be shelf-stabilized with irritating chemicals. This means a typical patient can wear KöR bleach for a longer period without incurring sensitivity. Hyper-sensitive patients require additional protection, but Dr. Kurthy’s KöR systems also provides these solutions, primarily the application of KöR Desensitizer after in-office bleaching sessions to help de-sensitize and seal the teeth.

Deeper Effects and Longer-Lasting Results

The KöR System also claims to provide two dramatic benefits, unheard of with other systems. One, KöR claims to be able to whiten tetracycline stains and two, KöR bleaching results claim to be permanent.

Case studies seem to confirm these results - thanks to another KöR innovation–the superior fit of its custom mouth tray. The tight seal of the tray once positioned on the teeth, alongside the increased potency and decreased sensitivity of the gel, produce an easier-to-wear, harder-working at-home bleaching period than with most other systems.

This more efficient wear-time permits the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System to work longer and harder than with other systems, thereby restoring your teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen. The oxygen from its whitening gel is absorbed deeply into the tooth, permanently dissolving even long-term or deeply ingrained stain molecules - and producing, in some instances, up to 20 shades of enhanced whitening. (Some exceptional cases even report between 25 to 40 shades whiter, in the case of removing tetracycline stains.)

Conclusion

Our research at TeethWhiteningReviews.com seems to support the claims made by Dr. Kurthy and the KoR Deep Bleaching Whitening System. While it isn’t the least expensive method on the market today, if you want one of the whitest possible results, or if you have special whitening needs – such as hyper-sensitivity issues or deep staining - or simply want an innovative and well-documented whitening system - this may just be the solution for you.

I just had this done and was somewhat-to-pretty impressed.

After the first "conditioning" phase i did not see any improvement at all, although the dentist said i improved one shade. After that i started the at home nightly bleachings. I saw signifigant improvements over the first four days.

I had very little sensitivity, although i have never had teeth sensitivity at all, even eating cold foods.

From the fourth through the 18th day (I had to do it a bit longer since i was out of town) I saw less improvement to no improvement, however those first 4 days were amazing.

When i went in for the final bleaching I also saw no improvement, but again I feel like my teeth got as white as they could in those first four days. By the end the dentist told me i had the white shade you can have. Not the natural shades but the whiter one.

My teeth did look a great deal whiter and I was very impressed, however afterwards I noticed a few things.

The very top of my teeth were not as white (close to the gum line) I guess this is becasue the seal ends at that point.

I noticed that the whiteness of my teeth has a lot to do with the lighting I am in. I guess this could be normal with anything that is white, however i noticed this a great deal more. Outside on a bright day, they look very white. Looking in a bathroom mirror however sometimes they look yellower.

Lastly, that innital whiteness seems to be fading a bit. It has only been about 3-4 weeks, and already I've noticed it. My dentist told me its only 30 for the replacement gel, so i will try this.

Over all for 900 I think its worth. I might not have payed the 1500 the first place quoted me for.

I've had the Kor treatment and feel as though I've wasted $1,200.00. After 6 months my teeth look the same as they did before I had anything done.
My regular dentist said he could have gotten them whiter at a lot lesser cost.

I have really bad tetracycline stained teeth. I did the KOR Deep Bleach for 8 weeks with very little to no teeth sensitivity. However, during the maintenance phase I was unable to bleach for more than 2 days per week. Also the stains returned which was a bummer after having bleached for 8 weeks and spending $1,800 for the whole procedure. I did achieve a lot more whiter shade and it was better than before but the bottom teeth were two tone yellow on the bottom and white on top.

If I had to do it over again i think I would rather go on a cruise with the $1,800..

Save your money and get veeners or crowns if you have tetracycline stains. Its a great product but you won't get really white teeth from multi colored tetracycline stains and if you achieve whiter teeth it won't last...

PS Dr Kurthy inventor of the KOR system is a really nice guy and was always available to answer questions. Unfortunately this did not work out for me and $1,800 was a lot of money for me to spend... I hold no grudges again Dr Kurthy or the Dentist that treated me. I was initially happy with the results but disappointed that the stains returned when I went on maintenance...

I just completed the whitening process and was thrilled with the results. My teeth are sparkling white. If you follow the directions I feel most people will be
more than happy with the results.
My only complaint is the cost. My dentist charged $1250 which I felt was too
costly for most .

My teeth hurt so bad I want to cry. The whole pitch about no sensitivity is not true. I'm in excruciating pain, I just finished bleaching 2 hours ago. Not worth it for me.

It really whitens your teeth! But at a price. Other products did not work for me, never could get really white teeth. My dentist quoted me the $900 for life! He promised little to no sensitivity and said this was the best thing on the market! I have been prone to sensitivity in the past which he was aware.

After the first few days the sensitivity was horrible. They suggested desensitizing more during the day and finally made me trays to put desensitizing tooth paste in to put in my mouth throughout the day. After two weeks I had only gotten a few shades whiter they recommended I continue for two more weeks. Which I did, everytime I missed a treatment it was like starting over with extreme sensitivity. You also cannot drink or eat anything that will stain a white shirt. No coffee, tea, marina sauces, etc.

Well I finally finished and you need to maintain it at home at least once a month. The next day after doing it, I would need to be close to home because of the sensitivity. They finally recommended Advil, which helped dull the pain.

Then I learned months later that $900 is not for life! Everytime to you need more $75, which is $300 a year if you do once a month. I was miss lead by my dentist who I have trusted for years and took him at his word.

So you get results but at a price both for your mouth and your wallet!

I am not a dentist, I am a patient. I was so thrilled to be offered a chance for white teeth without pain. I have tried so many products offered and have had no success due to unbearably sensitive teeth. When I read that this would only be 10% of the pain associated with other products I was ready to give it a try. After the initial office visit I was in terrible pain. The pain lasted until the evening and was curbed with back to back doses of ibuprofen. I was not able to use the home trays the first night. The second night I awoke at 2:00 a.m. in excruciating pain. The same happened on the third night. I switched to mornings so I could remove the trays before the pain started. Each day I had to reduce the amount of time I could wear the trays before the pain began. By the end I was only able to wear them 45 minutes at a time. I had to skip several days in between due to pain. After three weeks I decided I couldn't do this any more, even for white teeth. I had a final office visit using the 9% instead of the 27%. As a result, I did not achieve the beautiful white teeth I have always dreamed of. The hygienist told me I achieved a shade, maybe two. Such a disappointment after all the pain and inconvenience I experienced. My days were spent coping with pain instead of out and about with my normal activities. I took more ibuprofen than I have ever taken in my life.

I understand I am not the average patient, but I wish I had never wasted my time and money and agony with this. It is nice that they appear cleaner, but not particularly whiter.

I am not happy to know that to maintain this shade I will have to wear the trays at least twice a month. I am not sure I can do that.

If you have sensitive teeth, I do not recommend this product.

I have been offering Deep Bleaching to my patients for the last 1.5 years. It is truly amazing. My first patient was a 55 year old man with tetracycline staining and the results were unbelievable.
The procedure is techinique sensitive but the results more than make up for it. I truly believe this whitening procedure will change how all dentists whiten their patients teeth. Rod is always available to answer any questions (sometimes in too much detail). If you want REALLY white teeth for the rest of your life--there is only one answer--Kor Whitening.

My patients all agree the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ system is the way to go. It drastically whitens teeth and their new smiles last. Patients whose teeth have been blackened by past tetracycline use and thought their only hope for a nice smile was to replace their natural teeth with veneers are amazed at the difference and results they see with this product. Sensitivity issues are even addressed with this product. Special swabs keep the pain away. This is the way to go!

This is the best teeth bleaching system on the market, and nothing else comes close. As an associate in numerous dental offices for 3.5-4 years, I had a chance to try virtually every professional bleaching product and technique in dentistry today (including the "laser" whitening systems). All had their limitations, and all provided less than adequate long-term results. Almost every bleaching product, when used correctly, will give at least a modest, noticeable result. But incredibly spectacular results can only be achieved with KoR Deep Bleaching, and I know this from personal experience. After finishing our first case, I gave away every other type of bleaching gel in our office for free, and never looked back. This is the ONLY teeth whitening technique I will ever use in my office until I retire. So if the syringe of bleaching gel you have at home doesn't have the word "KoR" written on the side, find a dentist in your area that provides this treatment and join the thousands of patients around the world who benefit from the most effective teeth whitening system ever developed. Little to no sensitivity, red wine, chocolate, coffee and tea are still o.k. (no food or drink limitations), and the results are not only easily maintained over the course of your life, they're nothing short of stunning. A few before and after pictures:

1st set of pictures: A classic tetracycline case. no other technique on the market today can come close to these results.

2nd set of pictures: This patient has worked in the dental field for years, and she already had very white teeth. But she wanted something more. The problem was, no matter what bleaching product she tried, nothing could get her the results she was looking for. This is a common problem, as a lot of patients have what's called "bleaching resistance"; their teeth just don't respond well to traditional teeth bleaching for various reasons. KoR Deep Bleaching was the only whitening technique that achieved the level of whiteness she desired.

One last point of note: Your natural teeth CANNOT get "too white". If you see someone with really white, fake looking teeth, they actually have really white, fake teeth. They either have a bad set of dentures, or crowns and veneers that don't mimic natural tooth structure correctly. It is not possible to "look like Ross from Friends" just from bleaching your natural teeth.

This has by far been the best product we have ever used by far. Our results are predictable and we don't worry anymore. It's true, if you follow everything to the letter, you will be amazed at how white you can get your patient's teeth. I am very pleased with my own smile since I did the deep bleaching three years ago.

Of all the teeth whitening systems I have tried, this is the one that has given me the best results in terms of 1. most white AND natural looking result, 2. longest lasting, 3. least sensitivity, 4. predictability.
This is why I would highly recommend to use this system. Dr. Rod Kurthy is paying such a great amount to detail in the whole process. Starting with the instructions to the lab (!!!) how to make the trays.... to the aftercare even in form of emails when I have any questions - amazing!
I can therefore highly recommend this system to all dentists.

Count me as a big fan of the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System. In my 21 years as a dentist, I've tried a lot of whitening systems. None compare to this. The KEY is the refrigerated storage and delivery from manufacturer to my office. This makes a HUGE difference. In the past, I've had some whitening agents that must have been baked in transport, because they were as effective as water.

KöR's materials are top-of-the-line. Technical support and service are the best I've encountered in the industry. If you follow the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System technique to the letter, your results will be outstanding and incomparable.

I give the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System my highest recommendation!
