The KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System is a clinically-developed and tested teeth whitening method that claims to improve upon many of the unresolved problems of older systems, including: impermanence, failure to correct deep intrinsic staining (such as tetracycline stains) and sensitivity.
The KöR System has been developed by Dr. Rod Kurthy, a recognized authority in the field of cosmetic dentistry and a consultant and advisor to several dental manufacturing companies. Dr. Kurthy has been an active participant in the field of teeth whitening for over 30 years and is a sought-after speaker and author on the topic.
All bleaching systems work on the simple principle that teeth are whitened in direct proportion to the strength of the whitening agent and the length of time the agent remains in contact with the teeth.
KöR Whitening is a blend of in-office and at-home treatments that give dentists greater freedom to control the strength and duration of bleaching used in the whitening process. Typically, the procedure involves two in-office bleaching appointments a week apart, while the patient uses an innovative custom-molded mouth tray with whitening gel between the office visits.
For the in-office appointments, a strong 9% hydrogen peroxide solution is used, while a 16% carbamide peroxide solution is used for the home tray. Depending on the discretion of the dentist, either the same 9% Hydrogen Peroxide or DeepBleachingMax (27% Hydrogen Peroxide) is used on the second office visit.
Several basic improvements give credence to the KöR system claim of superiority. First, the whitening agents that are used in this system are fresher when the dentist receives them, so they’re stronger when they reach the patients’ teeth. Dr. Kurthy discovered that whitening gels that are constantly kept under refrigeration start out with more potency and effectiveness, and maintain their effectiveness for many hours. So, when a dentist receives the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System, it has come thru a completely refrigerated manufacturing and delivery protocol, before being refrigerated at the doctor’s own office.
Refrigeration also makes a difference to patients with sensitivity issues. Because the bleach stays fresher, longer - it doesn’t need to be shelf-stabilized with irritating chemicals. This means a typical patient can wear KöR bleach for a longer period without incurring sensitivity. Hyper-sensitive patients require additional protection, but Dr. Kurthy’s KöR systems also provides these solutions, primarily the application of KöR Desensitizer after in-office bleaching sessions to help de-sensitize and seal the teeth.
The KöR System also claims to provide two dramatic benefits, unheard of with other systems. One, KöR claims to be able to whiten tetracycline stains and two, KöR bleaching results claim to be permanent.
Case studies seem to confirm these results - thanks to another KöR innovation–the superior fit of its custom mouth tray. The tight seal of the tray once positioned on the teeth, alongside the increased potency and decreased sensitivity of the gel, produce an easier-to-wear, harder-working at-home bleaching period than with most other systems.
This more efficient wear-time permits the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System to work longer and harder than with other systems, thereby restoring your teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen. The oxygen from its whitening gel is absorbed deeply into the tooth, permanently dissolving even long-term or deeply ingrained stain molecules - and producing, in some instances, up to 20 shades of enhanced whitening. (Some exceptional cases even report between 25 to 40 shades whiter, in the case of removing tetracycline stains.)
Our research at TeethWhiteningReviews.com seems to support the claims made by Dr. Kurthy and the KoR Deep Bleaching Whitening System. While it isn’t the least expensive method on the market today, if you want one of the whitest possible results, or if you have special whitening needs – such as hyper-sensitivity issues or deep staining - or simply want an innovative and well-documented whitening system - this may just be the solution for you.
