About White Science

Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, White Science is a privately-held division of a company that they state has long experience in cosmetic dentistry - but is not named on their website. Their mall/kiosk/storefront process “SpaWhite” utilizes a carbamide peroxide/cool blue LED activation light to achieve results in 15/20 minutes. White Science is an international company and offers a variety of other whitening products (SolarWhite for tanning salons, WhiteIce whitening maintenance/mouth freshener) aimed at the consumer - in addition to products designed exclusively for dentists. They’re aggressive marketers - having been the “official” teeth whitening system for the Emmys, Miss America, the American Music Awards and others.

How the White Science/Spa White teeth whitening system works

White Science’s Spa White system recommends the application of petroleum jelly to gums to minimize sensitivity and encourages operators to measure the teeth’s original shade prior to whitening. Next, clients are asked to clean their teeth with a Spa White wipe before applying the whitening gel itself. The Spa White system features a mouthpiece with a pre-adhered foam strip, with pre-loaded carbamide peroxide gel (no % strength formulation was available to report) that does not require additional construction prior to insertion into the mouth. The client places the mouthpiece into the mouth, ensuring that the foam pad is securely in place on the front of the teeth - the operator then shines the Daylight 5K Light up against the front of the mouthpiece, and sets the timer for 20 minutes. Customer removes mouthpiece, again cleans teeth and uses Spa White Finishing Rinse to customer for a full 90 seconds. Shade changes are then noted.

White Science/Spa White locations

While White Science has distributors in 32 countries around the world, the actual number of Spa White locations in the US was unavailable. Company has been queried.

How well it works
Paid $160.00

to start, the procedure was promised to take 15 minutes. once in the chair, with tray in mouth, they told me 40 minutes would work better. in total, with the rincing and touch-ups, i was there a total of an hour an a half. the whitening only removed surface stains. could have had same results with the strips they sell at the pharmacy for 15$. never again. wouldnt recommend it, too $$, and too time-consuming. and my teeth were definately not the 4 shades whiter as guaranteed. its a scam!

How well it works

I went to the women's expo on Super Bowl Sunday and agreed to give it a try. I have to admit that I was amazed at how white my teeth turned out but I honestly regret doing it. It has been 3 days and I am still in pain, the solution in the bottom tray runs down off your teeth and rests on your bottom gums. You are told that the burning and tingeling is normal and the white spots on your gums will go away in about an hour. My bottom gums look and feel like a chemical burn. The expo has moved on with no forwarding address or phone number. I have a doctors appt. I need to get a professional opinion of the damage. Think twice before you jump into that chair, is vanity worth it?

How well it works

I have to say I was skeptical at first, but it made the coffee/nicotine stains go away with one treatment. I felt Like a new man. It worked way better than the teeth whitening strips I got at the store! I'd never thouhgt I'd get my teeth this white because there's no way I could pay the dentist the $900 he was asking for!
