Just had the zoom whitening procedure this morning. Four 15 minute intervals. No discomfort during application session, in fact the hardest part was trying not to fall asleep. I am experiencing the slight zingers now & then, with an occasional pain being more intense. Told I could take a motrin, but not necessary yet. The results are great, very pleased! (I have a very high pain tolerance)

I had this procedure done on toady at about 9:30 a.m. and I am not satisfied with the results. I was expecting top notch, 7 shades lighter teeth. The procedure was very painful, but I sat through the sessions because I wanted maximum result. I though I was going to look like ne-ne leaks and came out looking like Sheree (still needing a bleaching). Bottom line the decision is yours, but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROCEDURE TO ANYONE

GOT ZOOM WHITENING DONE AT 4:00 PM. FOUR SESSIONS 15 MIN EACH. DIDNT FEEL ANY PAINE MAYBE A LITTLE SOMETHING ON THE FOURTH. DONE AT 6. WHEN I LEFT GOT HIT WITH AN INTENSE "ZING". FOR THE NEXT COUPLE HRS I WOULD GET HIT WITH A ZING HERE AND THERE ON SOME OF MY BOTTOM TEETH. YES INTENSE BUT NOTHING TO BE ALARMED ABOUT (MY OPINION KEEP MOUTH CLOSED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE SCHEDULE APPOINTMENT AFTER WORK.
WENT TO SLEEP AT 11 WOKE UP NO ZINGERS JUST SENSITIVITY (IT IS NOW 12PM). WOURST PART OF THIS WHOLE THING FOR ME IS NO COFFEE AND SCARED TO ANYTHING TO STAIN MY TEETH. BOTTOM LINE IT IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE, IF YOU ARE REALLY DETERMINED TO GET YOUR TEETH WHITENED DO IT AND DEAL WITH THE PAIN FOR A COUPLE OF HRS OR A DAY OR TWO, IF NOT TRY SOMETHING ELSE.

I had this procedure a few hours ago. I did all 4 sessions with minimal pain - but have been experiencing the 'zings' every minute since. I would recommend it because it has made my teeth whiter - however if you already suffer from sensitive teeth I could not even imagine the pain you would be in. My pain rating right now is about 7/10 (and i do not suffer from sensitivity normally). It is pretty pricey - but i like to see it as an investment :)

So i just got my teeth Zoom whitened fire the first time today just a couple of hours ago. Yes my teeth are white and it did work BUT I have never felt such pain in my life (ive given birth 3times) If i had known that pain like this could exist in your teeth i would never had done it. I wish i had never done it!!!!! I keep getting these jolt\zings in,mu teeth that are do bad it gives me the chills and years to my eyes. I would highly recommend not doing this!! Crest whitning strips works just fine and threats no pain. This is horrible :( So not worth it!

Had the Zoom procedure about three hours ago. The results are impressive. My teeth are whiter than they have ever been. The treatment involved three 15 minute 'zaps' under an ultraviolet lamp placed directly over the teeth. Between each 'zap' the dentist reapplied whitening gel. The first 'zap' was completely painless. On the second I felt some sensitivity in my bottom teeth. By the end of the third period there was definite pain in the those teeth (say a 5 on a scale of one to ten, if 1 is painless and 10 excruciating). Three hours later I feel the occasional sharp(ish) pain in my bottom teeth but these twinges are now only a 3/4 on the pain scale (and falling) and last at most 3 or 4 seconds. The gap between twinges seems to be lengthening too. The dentist has given me gel to use overnight for one week, so I will see if the sensitivity returns when I put the trays in tonight.

I had this done today. Absolutely pain free in the dentist office. I am 3 hours post procedure and have experienced no pain. I did have two weeks of prescription sensitivity toothpaste ($18) and took two Advil beforehand. Unfortunately, my teeth don't seem that much whiter. Had a Groupon for $149.

I had Zoom done this afternoon and only had minimal pain. There were a few zingers during the process and now there is just some sensitivity...all in all, definitely worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My teeth are 7 shades whiter than they were this morning! I couldn't be happier with the results!

After reading all the reviews about "zingers" and intense pain, I almost canceled my appointment. I'm glad I didn't. The office I went to in North Oak was very clean and the staff were very courteous. All of my questions were answered and the procedure explained. The dentist explained about zingers and what I can expect during and after the whitening procedure.

For reference, I have a higher than normal pain tolerance when it comes pain control, but sharp pains cripple me (e.g. toothaches). I also do not have sensitive teeth and brushed my teeth with a whitening toothpaste (without much result) for about a month before the Zoom! procedure.

About two hours before my appointment I took 800mg of ibuprofen. I didn't have any pain during the procedure. None. I had a little discomfort from the heat of the light, but that was quickly remedied after I told the dentist. I want to say this again because of all the reviews saying how painful the procedure was: I experienced absolutely NO PAIN during the procedure. In fact, I sat through four 15 minute sessions instead of the traditional three since I wasn't experiencing any pain and my teeth were stained pretty badly. Again, no pain.

It wasn't until after the procedure (around 10 minutes) that I experienced any pain. I had a "zinger". I had three during the first hour that ranged between 3 and 7 on the 1-10 pain scale. I had one during the second hour that lasted around 8 seconds and was pretty intense. I think the ibuprofen had worn off by that point, though. I haven't had any zingers since then. However, I'm not drinking cold liquids and I'm not talking unless necessary since the zingers seemed to occur more when I was talking.

The whitening results were amazing, too. I went at least 8 shades lighter. This was my first time getting my teeth whitened after years of coffee and soda and neglect. They look amazing and I am very pleased!

THE SUMMARY: The procedure was painless, the zingers afterwards weren't *that* bad, and the results were beautiful! If your teeth aren't overly sensitive, I highly recommend Zoom! whitening for professional results.

Overall great results. There was heat and discomfort during the bleaching, and my teeth/gums were sensitive for several days after the event. That said, my teeth were blinding white when I left (I have the pics to prove it). I was given touch-up trays/gel which I use every six months to get rid of the tea stains that build up. Those work great, too... and without the sensitivity.

Basically... yes, it works. yes, it hurts for a bit. yes, it's worth it.

Had Zoom 4/07/12. Teeth yellow from smoking and neglect. Zoom made an incredible difference! Teeth must be 10 shades whiter, no joke. Best smile I've had in a looong while. Was lucky not to really have any zinger issue. Had a shooter here or there for several hours and they were rough. Couldn't imagine dealing with constant one's as some described above. Did have some constant tingling in my lower teeth for about 18-24 hours and my tongue got singed by the gel. All in all, very pleased. However, if you have really sensitive teeth, think twice. If you do go for it, see Dr. K. in Smithtown, NY. The absolute best dentist and staff, bar none. Trust me. :)

The Zoom procedure itself was fine - not much pain or discomfort. My teeth did look very white straight after. However, I experienced terrible pain, which began a couple of hours after the procedure and last for 2 more days - headache and the shooting pains that others have also mentioned. Plus I was told by the dentist not to have "food or drink of any colour" for at least 2d after. I found this a major inconvenience (white rice, chicken and water for 2 days?!!), but followed the instructions regardless as I really wanted this to work. I found that a few days later my teeth reverted to their normal shade and did not look any different to my before pictures. I guess they just looked whiter initially as they were dehydrated immediately after treatment. This is definitely not worth the price that most dental offices charge. All in all, I would not recommend. (FYI my teeth and gums are healthy, not overly stained but not Tom Cruise white either).

If you have severe pain it's because they didn't do the procedure right! They are suppose to isolate the teeth from the gums. If at any point the bleachin solution got on your gums it would cause extreme pain

I had ZOOM done about a month ago. I was SO excited! My teeth werent really bad but I could see where the years of coffe drinking had started taking its toll. I had read all of the reviews about the pain but my vanity won (as it usually does...lol). Two weeks before the procedure I had started brushing with Sensodyne in preparation for the sensitivity that I would experience. I also took an 800mlg motrin about an hour before the treatment. I was given three 15 minute sessions. I experienced no pain but, sadly, my teeth weren't much whiter either. I think it changed by one shade (maybe). I was incredibly dissapointed with the results. Luckily, I had only spent a fraction of the original cost since I purchased ZOOM through a groupon. My recomendation? Only do it if you have really yellow teeth. If your teeth are just faintly discolored, don't bother, especially if you have a low pain tolerance. I hope this helps : )

12 hours post procedure, still getting zingers every once in a while. The pain was brutal. I did 3 sessions and the last was really tough, I opted out of the 4th session. Teeth look great and I'm sure the pain will be gone soon.

Certainly not for everyone, but I'm glad I did it.

Got Zoom done about an hour ago... I did 3 15 minute sessions. I was supposed to have 4 but did not want my teeth to be blinding white since they were not that yellow to begin with. I had no pain whatsoever during the procedure HOWEVER I am now having shooting pains, they call them zingers but it feels like electric shocks. The pain only last for 10 seconds but when it comes out of no where I have to stop whatever I am doing. It's almost like contractions, the pain comes every 8 or 10 minutes in two main spots in my mouth. Now I'm wishing I had sat for the last 15 min session sine my teeth are probably only a shade or 2 whiter. Overall I got a goo deal by buying a groupon for $140 but woul never ever pay full price. Use crest white strips, same ingredient whitens your teeth, hydrogen peroxide. Just smaller doses... Which must be why crest white strips says to only use for 30 min or whatever.
Bottom line this hurts.

This was the MOST PAINFUL thing I have ever done in my life. And I've had plastic surgery, laser hair removal, and waxed my entire face. Nothing was more painful than this lol. I'm pleased with the results but I was about to quit after 15 minutes and then after 30 but I stuck through it and sucked it up. I wouldn't recommend doing it though unless ur good at tolerating pain or want to feel pain.

The dentist told me it would feel like ELECTRIC SHOCKS and sure enough, it did. There are post shocks as well but not so bad. I would try to find something better than this cuz im sure it's out there.

I just had this procedure done yesterday. I agree it was the most painful thing I have ever done, and I think I tolerate pain really well. The pain was so bad I thought for sure there was something wrong and I had just really screwed up my teeth.
There are few pointers that I'll share, first of all take the strongest pain medication you can, rub Colgate sensitive toothpaste on your teeth and drink warm water, it seems to help. I also used MI paste that makes it little better. I know you are not supposed to drink coffee for at least 48 hours, but if you take small sips through a straw it goes to the back of your mouth and try to milk the coffee down as much as you can.
Would I try it again? No, this was a one shot deal for me. They also gave me some Zoom paste and guards to use. The teeth are at a point where maintenance will be easier and I'll just use the white strips. What it did do was remove the stains up close to the gum area, the strips and professional cleaning would not even touch it, so it wasn't all for nothing.

This was so PAINFUL, i was not told any of this before I went in to get ZOOM they told me i would have SLIGHT sensitivity. The "zingers" are the worst pain I have EVER EVER EVER felt in my life. I made it to my 3rd sesion of 15 and finally had to quit i was in excrutiating pain!!!!!! And my teeth are not even much whiter than what they were. PLEASE DONT DO THIS, not worth all the money!!!!!!! Crest whitening strips could have done better than this 300 dollar procedure!!!!!!!!!! RIDICULOUS!

Had zoom whitening procedure done 3/26/12. NEVER AGAIN!! so misinformed. should have done more research on this. Still in discomfort. Upper lip so swollen, red burned. Mouth and gums area sore from burn effect. Had a few of the zingers that lasted for awhile, but have subsided. Took some pain meds to control discomfort. Didn't even work. Had to have prescriptions called in for cortisone ointment for inside mouth and gum area, as well as lips. Hopefully no permanent damage to mouth or lip area. Do not recommend it! For those of you who had it with good results, more power to you. For the agony and surreal discomfort, its not worth it.

I am experiencing Post Zinger Syndrome (The pain from the zingers after they've subsided) The most intense & aggravating pain I've ever experienced. It lasted for 24 dreadful hours. I also took ibuprofen every 4 hrs, rinsed w/ warm salt water & brushed my teeth w/ Sensodyne toothpaste. I can tolerate pain pretty well & I cried 3 times because of the Zingers & the "discomfort"= f&#}ing pain! Save your money & DO NOT put yourself through it! It's sooooo NOT worth it!!!

I had the zoom teeth whitening this afternoon. The procedure itself was not painful, I may have had a few zingers but nothing unbearable. Being uncomfortable was more painful that the procedure. I came home and took a nap and woke up with extreme sensitivity, but I guess thats normal. The procedure definitely worked, my only complaint is that the calcium spots I have are alot more visible now. I go back to the dentist on Wednesday so he can check things out. All in all, it wasn't terrible.

I read all the comments..after my procedure, which I did recently in Paris. I must say that in my case it did not hurt except maybe on 2 occasions, after the 90 minute session was over. Just a quick sensation of pain as I stepped out of the dentist and the weather was a bit chilly. Dentist gave me two ibuprofen just in case but I didn't use them. I am thrilled by the results, my teeth were becoming yellow and now they are in the A1 range, (the whitest). I definitely recommend this procedure.

Had this two days ago. Needless to say, I was having second thoughts after seeing all the bad reviews. I'm glad I went in anyways. It did not hurt the way others have mentioned. I did feel a few zingers during the process, but they were mild. I had four 15 minute sessions completed. Everyone on here with negative reviews probably has very sensitive teeth. If you do, of course it's going to hurt and you should be weary about undergoing the procedure. If you don't have sensitive teeth....I would definitely do it. Feels good to have my teeth so much whiter!!

I tried it today and was not as satisfied as I thought i would be. My teeth are not as white as I wanted. However, after three 20 minute sessions, I could no longer sit with my mouth propped open. My jaw hurt more than the Zoom! The shooting pain started on the 3rd session but I put up with it. After i left I continued to feel shooting pain in my teeth. I was surprised that there were no written procedures to take home. The assistant told me what to do but at the time I was hearing her but was not listening. I think this will be the last time I try something like this.

I haven't spoken in hours. When air hits my teeth its painful. I really hope this pain will go away soon. If not, I will not make it to work tomorrow!!!Yes, its that bad.

Way too much pain involved. I could not sit through all four treatments due to the shooting nerve like pain throughout my mouth. I sat through 2 of the 4 15 minute sessions and told the lady to stop. The pain brought me to tears and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. NOT WORTH it. Alternative is trays- I will be doing that for now on.

The worst PAIN in my life!!! I am a mother of three, and I have never felt pain like this. They call them "zingers"..that just makes it sound..cute. NO WAY! I did three rounds of the treatment. The first round was fine, and at the end of the second round I felt my first "zinger".. I tried to hold out during my third round of treatment, but I folded like a baby! I was in SO MUCH PAIN that I was trying to help the dental assistant take all the stuff out of my mouth.

I got my ZOOM whitening done at 9:30am. It is now 1:48pm... and I am still getting them even though I have taken a percocet. The pain was SO intense at first that I couldnt even speak. and the came so frequently..like every 2 minutes. Now they still hurt but they are coming like every 8 to 10 minutes.

I would NEVER do this again. In fact.. I would rather have another baby. The gel they give you for pain relief to take home..is not helpful at all!!!! It does nothing to relieve the pain at all.

I suffer from migraines... and these zingers hurt more than that! NEVER AGAIN! I can not believe I paid this much money for some white teeth and the worst pain I have ever had! I cant even eat or drink anything because of the sensativity. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! God help me.

I'm into my third hour post professional bleaching. I have been timing minutes between pain with associated pain scale. During hour 1, I averaged a "zinger" every 2.6 minutes with an average pain of 8 out of 10. During hour 2, I averaged a "zinger" every 4 minutes with an average pain of 6. During hour 3, I averaged a "zinger" ever 10.5 minutes with an average pain of 5. I have advil on board (600 mg). What I'm starting to notice is if I don't move my head, pain essentially goes away. Seams to be positional.

I have sensitive teeth. My dentist is absolutely fantastic and sympathetic to my pain. My teeth are much whiter than before, but I don't do teeth pain. It totally sucks, but if the pain continues to subside, I think I'll live.

Although I did whiten some it was not what I expected for the money. I'm hoping the trays will even the whitening out for it left yellow streaks. I think this product is over rated.

I had zoom whitening a week ago and before I was so scared I nearly cancelled (from all the comments I read online) about all the painful zings - I experienced no pain throughout the procedure an hardly any pain afterwards, maybe 3-4 zings in total. I would recommend this, although it doesn't give perfect white results but certainly a noticeable difference and I have ha many positive comments.

I have a different word of caution @ having this done. I am 2 medications that have the warning to avoid long exposure to regular sunlight and to avoid Any exposure to artificial light (such as tanning beds). I didn't think @ that w/this product, as the original talk @ this procedure indicated it would be heat with no explanation of how it was produced.

This is my fault, as I should have followed thru with discussion; even w/extensive padding and a pad over my lips that was added after I complained after the first 5 min., I ended up with a swollen mouth and gums, and the gum area over my top front teeth is terribly raw and bruised-looking. I have a "magic mouthwash" that they gave me a prescription for, and it helps w/pain. I am now rinsing my upper gums w/a mild saltwater solution to aid in healing.

Be sure to check all your medication warnings if you use this procedure, especially birth control pills. I always give my list of meds and vitamins, etc., that I am taking to every health provider I use, but sometimes slip-ups occur.

Looks good, but as one poster above stated, I would have gone w/the take-home trays if I had remembered my warnings!

It is almost four in the morning, and I am unable to sleep because of the excruciating pain I am experiencing from Zoom. I had my whitening done at 2pm today, so it's been over 13 hours and I'm still doubled over in pain. No amount of Advil or loratab had helped. I used sensitive toothpaste and a fluoride paste two weeks before my treatment,
But I'm still experiencing the worst pain in my life. My teeth are at a B1, but it wasn't worth the high price or the horrible pain. Vanity, vanity.

I got my teeth zoom whitened two days ago. Two days later, I am very satisfied with my experience. A week before my appointment, I used the toothpaste recommended by my dentist (colgate prevident).
During the procedure, I was very comfortable till the 3rd round, when the zingers started. For me, they came every 2 minutes or so. When the 3rd round ended, the dental assistant asked me if I wanted to continue (my discomfort may have been noticeable). I wanted to continue the last session, since I felt I could manage the pain. I experienced painful zingers for about 5hrs after I finished the last session. After that, the pain was minimal.
Now, 2 days later, the pain is totally gone and my teeth aren't sensitive anymore. I paid 150$ including tax, and would definitely zoom whiten my teeth again.

I did the procedure ten years ago by a similar process called Brite Smiles. The zingers were hell, but subsided by the following day. I loved the results. I did the procedure again today and the zingers kicked in on the 4th 15 minute segment. I sucked it up and took the pain. I had zingers all afternoon and they are now getting better, 10 hours later.

Ten years ago the procedure was $1000. Today I paid $550.

I am very glad I had the procedure done. My teeth are many times whiter. A little pain is expected, and worth it.

Yes it does the whitening. But if you want to experience the most excruciating pain of your life during and after the long procedure, be my guest. There are 3 rounds. I quit after the first. I (thought) have moderately sensitive teeth, but towards the end of just the first round, I was getting constant zingers. I sweated balls. My teeth were a shade whiter (maybe) but I could not do the 2nd and 3rd round. There was absolutely no way. Bottom line, do not do ZOOM. It is SO painful and expensive. I should've read the reviews on this site about zingers. DON'T DO ZOOM. SO AWFUL.

I had Zoom whitening done today. My top upper lip is burned, swollen and I am starting to develop blisters. Also I have moderate tooth sensitivity. My teeth are only one shade lighter. I have never had dental problems, had regular dental appointments my entire life. Zoom is not worth it. Believe the reviews, listen to your dentist and get the TAKE HOME TRAYS! I wish I had. There is no quick fix to teeth whitening.

Oh dear god. I have never felt pain like this in my entire life. I went and got the zoom treatment about 9 hours ago, and it's been agony since. I began getting "zingers" (which are much, MUCH, more painful than their name implies) in round 2 of the procedure. I toughed it out, but it basically felt like getting a cavity filled without anesthetic. At the end of the procedure, my teeth were noticeably whiter. I am actually very happy with the results. However, I continued to experience the zingers on my way home. They hit without warning and randomly. Imagine your two or three of your teeth being superheated at the same time; extremely painful. I actually don't advise driving while experiencing them. I took 800 mg of ibuprofen and a percocet when I got home and it still didn't stop the pain. Around 6 hours after the procedure, the pain changed from short bursts of intense, shooting pain (but no pain in between bursts), to a constant ache throughout all my lower teeth. I have gotten severe migraine headaches since I was a kid, so I'm no stranger to intense pain. This is as bad or worse than any migraine I've ever had. I have a very high pain tolerance, and this aching pain is a solid 7 out of 10 ALL THE TIME. The "relief gel" that they give you to use in case of sensitivity is a JOKE. It's like throwing a thimble of water on a bonfire. All in all, I wouldn't do it again if I had known what it was going to feel like afterward. Last, I should mention that I don't have very sensitive teeth normally. I imagine it would be even worse if I had normally sensitive teeth. Avoid if you don't have some serious pain tolerance.

I just had this procedure done about 25 minutes ago, and I'm only regretting... welll, let's be honest here, I'm regretting the whole damn thing. Sure, I love how my teeth look now, and reading what people are saying, so much for that. $200 for this much pain? Not worth a penny of it. I'm in so much pain right now. For sale: sore teeth! Any takers? :(

I had Zoom in my dentist's office approximately a month ago. No pain during the procedure...just found it a little difficult to sit still for so long. Afterwards, I had a few zingers but these subsided within a week. I was VERY pleased with the results. At first I was good about not eating, drinking staining stuff. Within a few days I was back to my red wine and coffee and saw some slight staining.

Returned to get the home bleaching kit yesterday and have it in now. No pain.

I found it very painful, but I was able to complete all three 20-minute sessions. My teeth were much whiter when I left, but within days returned to near previous shade. It is not worth the price, but at least you get the trays and plenty of bleach to touch up at home.

I strongly believe "no pain no gain" in regards to aesthetic procedures. However Zoom is more similar to plastic surgery than anything else, which is way too extreme for me. The recovery is abaolutely brutal. I have had multiple Brazilian waxes and never experienced pain like this. I only came upon this forum after sheer desperation after getting Zoom done 5 1/2 hours ago.

I had pain from the very beginning of it. By the third session I could not stand it and immediately left. I was having zingers every few seconds. I could barely drive even after a 600mg ibuprofen. I had to pull over after ten minutes because I had gagged three or four times from the pain and was terrified of puking while driving. Now 5 hours later it is still almost just as bad. I have never puked from pain.

I would NEVER do this again. I am in town visiting family and have now ruined a full day of my three day vacation. I have yet to have any relief and I have taken many of the best painkillers that j know of. If this ruins another day I will consider taking legal action against the dentist who did not inform me of the potential of any pain. I informed the hygienist My teeth are extremely sensitive and she basically just said I can stop at any time. No mention of the excruciating possibilities.

I am terrified of trying to sleep. I cannot imagine this pain continuing any longer. I would sell a kidney for pain relief right now. Beauty, aesthetics, are not worth this. I have a very high pain tolerance. This is unbelievable pain. I'm writing this to help pass the time, every second is excrutiating.

RUN- don't walk- away from this procedure. RUN!!!

I had this done this morning and was in NO WAY prepared for the pain! I literally got sick and vomited at the dentist's office. They prescribed pain meds and a soothing gel and 3 hours later I can function. I will say I had completely natural child birth, and braces as an adult and this hurt WAY WORSE. My teeth look amazing though, so hopefully by tomorrow I will say it was worth it!

I have had Zoom done many times and never had a problem with any pain or zing feeling. It sounds to me that many of you had burns from the bleach hitting your gums or lips. Yes, this is extremely painful because the gums are full of nerves. The teeth aren't. I just can't believe a tooth hurting. Sounds ridiculous if you think about it. No nerves - no pain.

Please be sure that you go to a dentist that has assistants with many years of experience. If they are new, then they may not apply it correctly and may be messy. When the bleach gets on the gum, as it did to me one time, I felt like I was lit on fire. I told the dental assistant and she wiped it off with a Q-tip and rubbed a topical anesthetic on.

Oh, that is another thing, many doctors don't use topical anesthetics. Ask before hand for them to rub topical anesthetic on your gums before they even start applying the bleach. This should be at NO charge. Look around for cheap treatments. I keep finding mine on Groupons for $100. I love the results that I get each time. Lasts about 6 months if you are a soda drinker like me. I do experience sensitivity with cold drinks for about a week and have to drink luke-warm soda but its worth it.

If your teeth are white in the A range, you will only see minimal results. The darker your teeth, the better. Its like throwing a white shirt and a black shirt in the wash and adding bleach. Which shirt will you notice the difference with? Good luck and just to let you know how comfortable I am with it, I'm taking my 13 yr old daughter and 15 yr old son for the first time tomorrow.

I must say that, as scary as this forum makes the process sound, you really SHOULD just go and try it out for yourself if you're interested/thinking about. I had my appointment yesterday, about 12 hours ago, and was excited. About 2 hours before hand I decided to research it a bit since I had no clue what to expect. It scared the living hell out of me with all the posts about the pain and sensitivity; it totally caught me off guard. I was really close to calling and canceling but the treatment was a gift from my boyfriend and I felt bad wasting it last minute so I went in. I did read that it would be less painful if you used sesodyne etc 2 wks prior but since I did not research it was obviously too late to do that so I popped one percocet and was on my way. The process was flawless, 4 15-min sessions and it was over like that. I didn't feel a thing except for discomfort due solely to a thing in my mouth for an hour and a half. I had my ipod in the whole time and was even dancing a bit in my chair. I had one minor zing during the 4th but it wasnt bad it just felt like i placed an ice cube on my tooth for 5 secs and it passed. Afterward I went to CVS to purchase all different kinds of sensitive dental products and mentally prepared myself for the hell to come during the next hours.... absolutely nothing. No sensitivity when i open my mouth, No zings, no aches nothing but Pretty white teeth. My teeth are as white as they can be despite the fact that there is minor discoloration from having braces. I know that everyone reacts differently to this process but DONT let people's personal experiences discourage you. If you want to do it, you are going to just have to take a 50/50 gamble and hope for the best!
