KoR Whitening Deep Bleaching Review

The KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System is a clinically-developed and tested teeth whitening method that claims to improve upon many of the unresolved problems of older systems, including: impermanence, failure to correct deep intrinsic staining (such as tetracycline stains) and sensitivity.

The KöR System has been developed by Dr. Rod Kurthy, a recognized authority in the field of cosmetic dentistry and a consultant and advisor to several dental manufacturing companies. Dr. Kurthy has been an active participant in the field of teeth whitening for over 30 years and is a sought-after speaker and author on the topic.

How Does KöR Whitening Work?

All bleaching systems work on the simple principle that teeth are whitened in direct proportion to the strength of the whitening agent and the length of time the agent remains in contact with the teeth.

There are two levels of KöR Whitening. KöR Whitening is an at-home whitening system, and KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching is a blend of in-office and at-home treatments that give dentists greater freedom to control the strength and duration of bleaching used in the whitening process. Typically, the procedure involves an innovative custom-molded mouth tray with whitening gel that provides 6+ hours of active teeth whitening during sleep, compared to average custom whitening trays made by dental offices which provide an average of 25 – 35 minutes of active whitening. When the full Deep Bleaching option is selected, the at-home portion of whitening is followed by an in-office whitening.

For the in-office appointment, a strong 34% Hydremide® peroxide solution is used, while a 16% carbamide peroxide solution is used for the home tray.

Fresh Bleach Makes a Difference

Several basic improvements give credence to the KöR system claim of superiority. First, the whitening agents that are used in this system are fresher when the dentist receives them, so they’re stronger when they reach the patients’ teeth. Dr. Kurthy discovered that whitening gels that are constantly kept under refrigeration start out with more potency and effectiveness, and maintain their effectiveness for many hours. So, when a dentist receives the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching™ System, it has come thru a completely refrigerated manufacturing and delivery protocol, before being refrigerated at the doctor’s own office.

Enhanced Sensitivity Protection

Refrigeration also makes a difference to patients with sensitivity issues. Because the bleach stays fresher, longer - it doesn’t need to be shelf-stabilized with irritating chemicals. This means a typical patient can wear KöR bleach for a longer period without incurring sensitivity. Hyper-sensitive patients require additional protection, but Dr. Kurthy’s KöR systems also provides these solutions, primarily the application of KöR Desensitizer after in-office bleaching sessions to help de-sensitize and seal the teeth.

Deeper Effects and Longer-Lasting Results

The KöR System also claims to provide two dramatic benefits, unheard of with other systems. One, KöR claims to be able to whiten tetracycline stains and two, KöR bleaching results claim to be permanent.

Case studies seem to confirm these results - thanks to another KöR innovation–the superior fit of its custom mouth tray. The tight seal of the tray once positioned on the teeth, alongside the increased potency and decreased sensitivity of the gel, produce an easier-to-wear, harder-working at-home bleaching period than with most other systems.

This more efficient wear-time permits the KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching System to work longer and harder than with other systems, thereby restoring your teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen. The oxygen from its whitening gel is absorbed deeply into the tooth, permanently dissolving even long-term or deeply ingrained stain molecules - and producing, in some instances, up to 20 shades of enhanced whitening. (Some exceptional cases even report between 25 to 40 shades whiter, in the case of removing tetracycline stains.)

Conclusion

Our research at TeethWhiteningReviews.com support the claims made by Dr. Kurthy and the KoR Deep Bleaching Whitening System. While it isn’t the least expensive method on the market today, if you want one of the whitest possible results, or if you have special whitening needs – such as hyper-sensitivity issues or deep staining - or simply want an innovative and well-documented whitening system - this may just be the solution for you.

I did the KOR treatment, at first my teeth looked great, then they started getting back to the way they were before the treatment. I spent 700.00 on this and was in pain for weeks after completed treatment, the ad says you do not have to give up coffee, tea or wine. I don't drink wine, but did drink coffee and tea. When I went into the office for the last bleaching step, it hurt so bad, did all 4 treatments there same day, and when I went back 2 weeks later I had lost one whole shade, they asked if I had been drinking coffee I said yes and they said I needed to drink through a straw, now who drinks coffee through a straw. Now it has been a couple of months since completed the process and my teeth are starting to go back to the shade they were before the process. I wish that I would have just gone with another bleaching system, I did this because I had quit smoking and wanted the stains taken off my teeth. A lot of good that did.

Bottom line:::::DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY::::::::::

I actually won this at a silent auction so I am very happy I did not pay the $750 value.
The first two weeks at home at night were miserable. The tray were uncomfortable to wear. I experienced extreme sensitivity. The desensitizer did not do much good...the gel for the trays was from the fridge so it started out cold.
I then took a half day off work for the two hour office visit. The nurse have me 4 Advil in the office and made me wait a while before she started. She said it was going to be painful. It was not too painful but very uncomfortable. Your lips are stretched so wide and you can't close your mouth. You drool everywhere!!
When all was done, the picture they took and what I saw was very white. Gum line was a little darker. I was told that was so my teeth would look natural.
After about three days of one coffee in the morning ( teeth brushed right after!) and water the rest of the day, my teeth looked like they did before the procedure.
The gel I still have at home has not whitened them back at all. I would not waste the money. There are cheaper options out there!

I had the KOR Whitening done by Dr. Featherstone in Henderson Nevada and had wonderful results. My teeth were Tetracycline stained quite badly and I never thought anything would work. However, after about two months of whitening off and on at night my teeth are now very bright white.

I did not have any trouble with the KOR system and only a very slight amount of sensitivity. My cost was $700 plus I bought some extra product since it took longer than normal due to my dark staining. My smile is now the first thing people notice! I would definitely recommend the KOR system and Dr. Featherstone and his amazingly friendly and professional staff.

I paid $575 Canadian(may 2013) to get this procedure done. It was a complete waste of $. I am so disappointed. My teeth are stained by tetracycline so I was so excited to discover a product that claimed it was powerful enough to remove them. I saved for months for this procedure since I'm currently in college this is a lot of $$. I experienced the uncomfortable tooth sensitivity but stuck through it.to me it seemed that the in office whitening was the most effective. I'm not sure that the at home gel did much. If possible I wish I could get 4 more in office procedures done and forget the take home gel trays. My teeth were initially a dark yellow and after the procedure, they were light yellow. Nothing like the yellow before and white after pictures I saw in the Kor brochure. It worked but not very well. Maybe it works for patients with non tetracycline stains. My teeth are still yellow and this hurts because I spent a lot if money and the results are sub par. Just save up and get veneers. This product was not worth a penny in my books and I'm terribly disappointed. I wish I could get a refund.

Horrible product.
1. I had the worst 12 days of my life while "whitening" during the night. The desensitizer is a joke. I had so severe pain I had to be on pain killers. I was not able to drink anything cold nor warm, eating was painful. Painful even to brush my teeth.
2. The results were not striking, and the gum line remained yellow
3. At the office, I wanted to jump out of the chair after the first 20 min of so called whitening.
4. I left the office in tears, my dentist told me to take ibuprofen and that their office never had anyone with such sensitivity
5. Now final result: i have white spots on my teeth and it looks worse than before. If I was unable to smile big before, slim chance now. It looks like i have a disease.
Very unhappy with the KOR, I am 4 days out from the office whitening and I still have shooting pain in my teeth. A total waste of money and sanity from the amount of pain.

Absolutely I say go for it. Do your research, be aware you may be one of the ones who experience some pretty intense pain. I recommend using Sensodyne at least a month before you start the system, and research your dentist too. Mine is great. I did two weeks of nightly bleaching, then the in office conditioning treatment, three weeks of at home bleaching, then the intense in office, 4 20 minute sessions, when I go back I will have completed another three weeks of at home bleaching. My teeth are no longer grayish/yellow but a pretty nice shade of white, although not pearly white yet. At my next visit he will decide whether to do another in office treatment with Kor, do an in office Zoom, and we will gradually reduce more at home bleaching until his desired results are achieved. My teeth are already 15 to 20 shades lighter. Is there pain, oh yes, sensitivity, oh yes. Would I do it again knowing about the pain, absolutely.

I am 55 and have horrible tetracycline stains. I read the reviews and was hesitant but went ahead anyway. I am so pleased with the results. My teeth are not perfect but what an improvement - I now love to smile from ear to ear. Lets face it - we have to have realistic expectations with any product. I recommend it. It was mildly uncomfortable but well worth it for me.

I had used the at-home gel for two weeks. My success was moderate ... Netter towards the biting surfaces of the teeth but not as effective at the gum line. I decided to try and improve on the results so, I don't to a "KOR" dentist for an' "in chair," session. I was badly burned on the top lip which swelled about 4-5 times it's normal size and badly blistered. One week later, am still struggling with the pain and discomfort of these effects. My dentist told me to use vitamin E as well as a homeopathic cream. I would advise anyone who is going for the, "power bleaching," with their dentist to be certain that they have extensive experience with avoiding getting the gel on any part of the soft lip tissue. I will be seeing my family doctor in another day since I'm very concerned about the degree of the burns.

Good Luck!

My dentist recommended teeth whitening preparatory to veneer application. He directed me to apply the KOR product nightly, for a period of 2 weeks, then come in for the in-office application(s). I found the in-home application at night to be tedious and uncomfortable. The cost for this process was $1000, and was not reimbursable. My salivary glands were working overtime, and the sensitivity (even with a pre and post application of desensitizing liquid) lasted about 4-5 hours post application. I had the in-office 3 / 20 minute application. I experienced some severe tooth pain within 2 hours of leaving the dentist's office. It was so severe I had to ask for prescription pain medication. I waited 2 weeks, then proceeded with additional in- home use of the product, as directed by my dentist. I experienced a severe allergic reaction, with swollen lips, blistered, split corners of my mouth, etc. I contacted my dentist the next day and asked if he'd had any prior complaint about allergic reactions. He told me he'd had no prior patients who'd had a reaction. I went in to see him but he was puzzled and had no answer. I thought perhaps I'd had a reaction to something I'd eaten or used. I waited for it to clear. In the meantime I checked Web MD, Mayo clinic, etc to see if there was any mention of allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in either the bleaching product or the desensitizing liquid. I found nothing. Two weeks later I used the bleach again; I applied the desensitizing liquid again, pre/post application, as directed by my dentist. Within minutes of rinsing out the post bleaching application of desensitizing liquid, I felt my lips burning and tingling. My lips swelled, the inside of my mouth was raw and burned looking. Also, since the cotton tip had fallen off the swab stick, I had used my thumb and forefinger to swab the desensitizer along my teeth. My fingers (where I had touched the swab) were itching and broke out in hives. They were blistered, painful as well. I called my dentist the next morning and told him I'd had another allergic reaction, and that this time I was certain that the desensitizing liquid was the cause. He seemed somewhat skeptical but told me he would contact KOR for information. Two weeks later he called me back to tell me that KOR acknowledged that there had been prior cases like mine...... Allergic reactions. However, there was no cautionary comment I any of their instructional literature. My lips and fingers ultimately peeled, and are still painful and sensitive. I will not be proceeding with any additional applications.

I concur with TJ, Denton, TX others who experienced extreme pain during Kor Whitening.

I have very healthy teeth, never sensitive to anything, good enamel but with tetracycline stain. Kor Whitening is not only very painful, the result also does not last. My dentist said that it is permanent only once a month for maintenance and the Kor website also claims so. It is NOT TRUE!

My teeth started regressing soon after the final procedure. It was even worse than my original teeth color because at least my original teeth has even color. When they start regressing, it does not go evenly, the entire teeth go darker with localized whiter spots for at least 3 weeks. You won't be able to open your mouth in the public.

Also please make sure your dentist examine your teeth before deciding going forward. Because if the base of your teeth are receding then those areas are not going to be whitened. You will have ugly dark yellow white band!

My dentist charged me $1500. $60 for each gel.

My dentist keeps on saying that I am a difficult case, but after reading all the reviews, I understand I am not alone. Most patient experience pain. My dentist did not warm me about any of this, he just simply wanted my business.

Every day commute is very stressful due to the severe sensitivity, I take subway everyday, any hard metal sound could make me go crazy I had to cover my ears. Any scratch of my finger nails again paper will give me chill on my back, etc. I could not perform normally at work...

I asked my dentist if any patient came back for consultation after the procedure. She said that no, and one patient who had tetracycline had successful result but never came back for follow up...

I want to sue my dentist withholding critical knowledge from patient, artfully 'pushing' me into this expensive, painful and stressful procedure that does not last, and all the punitive damages!

Any one has tried this route? Could you please write me back to share your experience? Thank you in advance.

I just had a Kor deep bleaching done on September 11, 2012 and before that I did the at-home bleaching for 2 weeks. Let me tell you it was a waste of money. My teeth were nicely white right after the procedure in my dentist's office but my teeth got back to almost the same color in about 7 days - yes 7 days and I was back to my same teeth so don't waste your money on this procedure. Maybe its true that it will remove very dark stains but it won't make yellowish teeth white. Sure - your teeth will whiten many shades lighter after the bleaching phase but it won't last. If you want white teeth - just opt for veneers but make sure your teeth are healthy for veneers.

45 year old, coffee drinker with tetracycline stains. I tried another bleach at home product in my 30's, recommended by my dentist. I couldn't get through it due to sensitivity problems. This program was supposed to be better but cost $700. I finally gave in and I was determined to get all the way through the program, no matter how much it hurt.
Well I made it the full 6 weeks. The tips of my teeth are whiter but I still have the yellow/brown base. The temperature sensitivity really reduced my food intake but at least I lost 7 pounds. The zingers would drop me to my knees. Tylenol had little effect.
It seems from reading the reviews here, if you have no sensitivity, the product is great but I don't think I would recommend it to anyone with sensitive teeth. In the end, the color returned, even with the monthly touch ups. I guess I am getting used to the continued sensitivity and I hope it goes away eventually. My wife says my teeth are whiter but no one else noticed. I am disappointed that I just have to live with two-tone brown teeth.

KoR Whitening is awesome! I was so skeptical about whitening as I had seen many friends try whitening under the light or take home trays. I really felt badly when I would have to lie about how much better their teeth looked after they were finished even though I couldn't notice any difference! They eventually would see that they really hadn't changed and would feel remorse over wasting their time and money! My dentist really had to convince me but since his teeth and his assistant's teeth were so white and they had used KoR I decided to try it!

My teeth after more than 20 years of coffee drinking (and some red wine too!) were really yellow! I did the take-home whitening first. It actually was easy...no sensitivity and the trays didn't bother me while I slept. Right away my teeth looked much whiter.

After my dentist finished the office visit whitening, my teeth are so white! I love it!!!! I just had a little tingling after the visit but nothing bad at all!! My friends are all going to use KoR now too! I think I even look younger (LOL)!

I had the KOR whitening over the past 10 days: The 1st 2.5 hours was not bad at all. The at-home sessions caused some irritation and sensitivity to gums and teeth but I tolerated that quite well and could sleep comfortably while wearing trays. I noticed progressive whitening over the course as my teeth had become quite grayish yellow due to aging and staining. The 2nd in-office treatment was almost unbearable. Although I do have somewhat sensitive teeeth, I have had many dental procedures in my life, but none were as painful as the visit today. The actual procedure caused great pain (not discomfort) and in the 6 hours since, it has been tolerable but I still have not been able to eat or be productive in any way. I even worried that something bad had gone wrong. I had to return to the office and ask for a Rx for pain killer because Advil, Alleve, nor Tylenol X-tra strength had no effect. If I had had this experience on the first day, I doubt I would have continued the process. I realize other people might not have had this much pain, but it is important to know all the possibilities up front. I like the look of my teeth at this early stage, however.

After 3 weeks of at home bleaching I had my WOW visit today. NOT prepared for the very unpleasant 2 hrs. in the chair and in no way prepared for how much my teeth hurt now!!!! My jaws and ears ache : (. My dentist knows I have very sensitive teeth and did not warn me. My teeth are much whiter. I am happy about that, but it depends on how long this pain lasts whether I would recommend it to others.

I am a Kor Whitening Provider. While Kor is an excellent system, you should expect sensitivity with any whitening system. In the last few days alone I have had a full range of symptoms from my patients during treatment, one patient experience was terribly uncomfortable, one had no sensitivity, and another fell asleep during treatment! In-office whitening treatment is a much higher percentage than any product you can buy over-the-counter or to take home from a pharmacy. Tooth sensitivitity, tissue dehydration, and a chalky appearance is to be expected for a few days following treatment. However, Kor is one of the only systems that has proven to provide results for stubborn stains. It also provides you with a system that can maintain results for many years.

Made my teeth a little sensitive but not horrible like others have described. I could see a difference after the second night. A noticable difference. Reading some of the reviews, it's pretty clear some are not using it correctly. If your mouth if full of "gunk" then you have used way to much. I guess it's all about what you expect. I was'nt expecting miracles, just whiter teeth and it's doing for me exactly what my dentist said it would. I am very pleased and quite impressed with the level of whitening. I'm already at least 4-5 shades whiter and I'm only half way through.

Hello,

About 20 years ago I used Britesmile (using only the gel and trays)and got amazing results that were several shades whiter in just two days. Years later my natural teeth are now yellowish and I think worn. I recently tried to whiten them again with the new Britesmile system(which uses a light and gel) and other gels, but was unsuccessful.

However, I read great reviews about deep bleaching and made an appointment with one of the dentists listed on the Kor Whitening site. She advised me that I am a good candidate for deep bleaching. I just completed the Kor Max 14-day at-home overnight process using 16% gel-- with little to no sensitivity but absolutely no change in color. Is this normal for some patients? What is the timeline for stubborn teeth that are yellowish but not stained with tetracycline? Are there natural teeth that will just not be able to absorb the oxygen?

I followed up dentist with who took impressions for a new set of trays (as it was determined the first set may have allowed gel leakage). I am hoping the second attempt is successful. But as of this writing, I am deeply underwhelmed.

Any insight any one can share will be greatly appreciated.

I used the KOR Whitening Deep Bleaching System. I used both the take-home tray and the in-office final bleaching. The sensitivity from the take home is not bad if you use the desensitizer AND take a Motrin before using it. I probably should have taken Motrin before the office treatment, because the dental office did not supply any form of medication to alleviation the pain (the pain you would get from this treatment is called "zingers," it feels like a stinging sensation that will randomly hit any tooth affected and will last a couple of seconds. My biggest regret is spending the money I did on this system. It may have been my biggest mistake thus far. My teeth do not look significantly different from before I began the treatment. My upper teeth look better than before, but they still have a yellow-ish coloration to them. The bottom also looks a little better, but they did not change as much as the top. Overall would I recommend this procedure? It would depend on the price. I visited a dentist for this procedure and was told about two procedures they offer: Zoom ($600) and KOR ($1,800). I was told that the results from Zoom would only last a year, and that KOR would be permanent, but required monthly maintenance. If I could go back, I would have selected Zoom. I would recommend anyone do what I should have done, and do as much research as possible on the procedure before spending the money. I don't believe KOR works as advertised for everyone, and as such I would recommend not spending over $600 for the procedure. For $1,800, there was no guarantee. If there is no guarantee, I wouldn't recommend spending over $500-600. The only good thing that came out of this experience was that I no longer drink coffee on a regular basis. I was told to avoid coffee during my treatment, which I did, and after not drinking coffee for a month, I no longer have a daily craving for it.

I was so excited to try this product because I have always had a yellow tone to my teeth. I was concerned with the price, but my dentist said it was permanent. I went for it. The process wasn't bad until the final treatment in the office. I got a huge blister/canker sore under my upper lip and that night had to take a lot of Advil due to overall tooth pain. It was a very hard process, but my teeth looked amazing! Now just a few months later, I'm making an appointment with my dentist because my teeth look exactly as before the bleaching. I'm not sure what they will be able to do except maybe do it again...and I don't think I want to go through all that again. About 5 years ago I did another type of "tray" whitening with the same dentist office and it lasted several years. My teeth weren't as white as with KoR, but it didn't fade so fast. And it was a third of the cost Very disappointed in KoR. Would not recommend.

After living with Tetracycline stained teeth for 50+ years, I am thrilled to finally have a white smile. After pretreatment in office and two weeks at home, my dentist had me do an extra 10 days. Then the final in office bleaching, followed by gradually reduced at home follow up. The discomfort was minimal and I missed my coffee, tea, spaghetti sauce, etc, but it was well worth it. Be careful at the final bleaching to keep your tongue and lips clear. I lost some taste for a few days. Again, all worth the white smile!

I just did the teeth whitening. My lips sweeled from the peroxide burning insise my lower lip and left side if bottom lip. I also have a contact dermatitus rash according to my dermatologist. He wants me to use topical cortisone and take pregnisone steroid for ten days for the swelling. Last time I bleached I had a Rebound effect after 72 hours my teeth turned greyish and back to their old color. With the higher strength Kor whitening has anyone had a rebound. Also please send natural cure info. for swelling.

I had my final in-office visit on Friday, May 4, 2012. Prior to this visit I did 6 weeks of nightly at-home treatment following the initial in-office treatment. I had very gray and striated tetracycline staining. I had little to no sensitivity during the initial in-office treatment and the six weeks at-home treatment. After week four I experienced a few "zingers" when I would put the tray in, but this went away withing minutes. Although I was advised that I would likely not see results for weeks I began to notice lightening within the first week. Others noticed within the second and third weeks. I only missed one night - the night I had surgery on my elbow. I felt nauseated and didn't want to chance it. The final visit was flawless except for a few places where moisture caused the dam to lift. I believe I caused this by trying to adjust the retractor. I experienced no pain in the office. I am glad I had no plans for the night because I had moderate discomfort throughout the night following the office visit. The next day I had mild discomfort at times but not enough to require Advil.
I would highly recommend this procedure! You do have to have discipline in completing the at-home portion and I would recommedn clearing your schedule for the day of and following the final appointment. I am so pleased with my results!

I just finished the whitening process and I have very sensitive teeth. To be fair, I've never tried whitening my teeth before because of the sensitivity issue as well as a crown that I have on one of my front teeth. I've had this crown since I was 8 yrs old, almost 20 years, so I pretty much gave up on thinking about whitening once the sensitivity got worse as I grew older. I decided to get my crown replaced so I also wanted to whiten my teeth and my doctor recommended this method since it is so consistent and whitens so brilliantly. My doctor did tell me that I would experience some extra sensitivity before I started and I expected that because of my already sensitive teeth and the reviews I read here. The first day wasn't too bad, but the second was awful. Even sound hurt my teeth...they would just throb. After the second day the pain was minimal...so much so that I didn't need to take medicine everyday. My teeth were extra sensitive to cold and air so I mostly drank warm drinks with a straw. I wasn't as good about avoiding staining foods as I drink 2 lattes a day, but my teeth still whitened really well. The in office appt was not terrible, but very uncomfortable during the last 20 min session..my assistant accidentally hit my teeth while suctioning out some saliva and I thought my teeth would never stop hurting! There were lots of zingers after the in office appt and my teeth ended up feeling like they did on the second day all over again...felt like that til about noon the next day and then the pain was minimal again and I could continue using the bleaching trays at night. My gums got burnt fairly bad where my doctor didn't put the dam but healed within a few days. For how sensitive my teeth are, I felt this was the best way to go and now they are permanently white and I will upload a pic after I get the crown redone! It may be painful, but I would agree with the review that mentioned it being like a tattoo...

I am so impressed and THRILLED with the results.

When I first saw the before/after pics in the brochure, I really didn't believe most cases would turn out like that, but my teeth actually were whiter than after shades in the brochure!

It wasn't painless like the brochure said, but it was way less painful than anything I've tried before. I've never ever been able to do Crest Strips for more than 3 or 4 days because it hurt so much. My dentist had me start brushing with a rx flouride toothpaste a few days before whitening and used extra desensitizer on my teeth since I am sensitive to whitening.

The 2 weeks at home was painless. I did eat advil like M&Ms though to try to keep ahead of the pain. The in office whitening was uncomfortable, but tolerable. Knowing that the whitening lasts forever made it so I was willing to go through a lot more pain than I did- I just looked at it like a tattoo; 20 minutes of pain in exchange for brilliant white teeth forever? That's a no brainer.
Same with the cost- I've wasted SO much money $20-$40 at a time trying out whitening strips, gels, rinses, toothpastes, etc. that just don't work well, are slow, and are painful. There's no reason to go through all that when you can just get it done ONCE, right, the first time.
And while $700 is ALOT of money to me, I've spent it on something that's with me 100% of the time for the rest of my life. There's no clothes, or purse, or even car I could say that about. It's a good investment.

I always thought I would do something like this when I was ready to get married, but that was so silly- why wait until then to have nice teeth when I could have them all along? I wish I had done this years ago!

Worth every penny, low pain relative to other whiteners, and outstanding results.

I recieved two tubs and one set of mouth trays. I followed the directions using the treatment for 14 days with out drinking sain causing liquids. i then went to recieve my in house whitening. 3 20 minute treatment. A little sensitive. My teeth were over all white to begin with. What I was looking to improve was the yellow close to the of the teeth. However not much of a difference, I'm disappointed. Should of went for the laser. Maybe next time.. Goodluck to you all.

I too was directed that I may expeireince pain, sensitivity. One night and WOW!!!!! my teeth are not horribly yellow, yet enough to keep me from smiling in pictures and such. WOW. No pain no gunk in mouth. just a little drop does the trick.
I asked the dh who directed my how to use Kor, and informed her that I DON NOT have sensitive teeth.
To me all the negative reviews are normally the only ones posted online. IF YOUR TEETH are senstitive WHY, WHY would you do anything to create that. A half of brain can tell you NOT to put anything in your mouth that could create this unpleasant pain...yikes ppl

I have an appointment in an hour for the in-office treatment. I still have Tetracycline stains on 2 teeth and have had pain like electric shocks in my teeth with the at-home whitening. I was told the pain was normal but to take a night off from the whitening and desensitize at night and in the mornings. I am dreading more pain in the office today and have taken Motrin now and will take more later. I was not warned about the pain, nor the fact that Tetracycline stains would remain. I don't feel I made an informed decision; I was given inadequate information.

I had terrible pain with this whitening system. There were nights I woke up in tears and days I could not eat. I used the desensitizer more than directed and started using sensitive toothpaste. I kept telling myself it would be worth it in the end, but unfortunately I went for my in office treatment today and my teeth are not as white as I had hoped maybe only a shade or two lighter. My teeth were not that bad to begin with so I had hoped for noticeably bright white teeth. Also, my gums blew up during the in office treatment and were covered in blisters. I don't normally have sensitive teeth so I didn't think I would have a problem. Luckily, I won the bleaching treatment and did not have to pay or I would be even more dissatisfied with the product.

Kor Whitening is the best investment for whiter teeth!! My teeth were not terribly yellow, but enough so that I was no longer confident in my smile. After using Kor for 2 weeks, I couldn't stop smiling. My teeth are 8-10 shades whiter!!

I first had my in office preparation in which they condition my teeth and used the desensitizer. I was sent home for a 14 day night treatment. I did feel a little sensitivity, but using sensodyme tooth paste helped. I went back for my 2nd appointment, and it was x3 20mins sessions. Afterwards, my teeth was very white went down to the bleach area. I felt a lot of sensitivity and my gums was very irritated. I tooked motrin, and called my dentist to call in a prescription for fluoride RX toothpaste. That helped a lot. I just went back today, to get my color match for a crown, and my teeth got a little darker. It is no longer in the bleach area, but they are in the two areas close to the bleach on the scale (so white, but not bleach). I am a little disappointed because I wish after paying $1000.00 that it would have stayed pearly bleached white, but I was told that when you first get your teeth whitening it is brighter and dehydrated. That is why before they match my crown up...they wanted me to come back in a few days. However, it's only been a week. I would recommend it, because my teeth are much whiter, but if you want that pearly white bleach look...it didn't work for me, and you may want to try veeners. I will never go through this process again.

I bought a certificate for the Kor bleaching through a Living Social deal and so it was very inexpensive compared to what many people paid....although the $250 initial exam was higher than usual so they made some of their money back there. The whitening worked very well, but I have to say the pain was excrutiating at times! I have never felt such a strange pain in my teeth. I am pretty sure I would not go through this again--but I am glad I did it. I am still doing the monthly maintenance and the price for the syringes which last 3-6 months (depending on if you do it once a month or once every 2 months) is $15 per syringe. Not a bad price I think. My teeth are much whiter, and I love the results. Be sure and take Aleve or Motrin before and during, it does help...but be warned--it may be extremely painful for you and I don't think there is any way to know who it will cause such pain for before trying it!

I was very happy with the results of the KOR system. It was very easy. I went to the dentist had my teeth cleaned, they made personal trays, I picked up the my trays and products a week later. I was given a started date and an appointment for the final session.

Each night I started off by taken a picture of my teeth and use the product as direct. In the morning a clean my teeth and used crest whiten mouth wash. Took a picture. I had minimum sensitivities. It was very important to me that I ate clear and white food throughout the process. Looking at the timeline my teeth were really yellow and ugly D4 on the color chart. My teeth are a little lighter then A1. I have a movie star smile.

In the past, I always would hide my teeth when I spoke, now I just want to smile and let the world see my beautiful pearls Dr. Wallerstein, Edison NJ gave me... Thanks Dr. I love my new teeth....

Now my brother wants his done.

As for the price it was my Christmas gift from my Mom and Dad.

great at whitening, but with teeth sensitivity, handle with care! I do the home treatment at home during daytime and do it for approx 2 hours per day. It may take longer but I can still see results and I am happy with that. I havent done any office treatments and it sounds like after reading what others have experienced, i am not keen. I havent had my teeth whitened for 15 years and can see terrific results already. I can forsee me doing this for another couple of weeks and will be done. Then I would do one per month for maintenance.

Im going on my 4th day with these baby's and let me tell you......they are really superb. I mean yea they are killing my gums but i've had bad gums in the past so i kinda expected it !. As for the sensitivity of my teeth....i feel little zaps of pain but the pain is bearable. I have been using Advil every morning to reduce the pain and its really been helping ! THe pricing should be a lot lower but it the end its going to be worth it. I recommend this to anyone !!

My teeth are much whiter but hurt so bad I wonder if it is worth it all. I hope they stay white and the pain goes away. Motrin does nothing for me. I'm on Loratab and I hate taking pain medication. I don't believe I would ever do this again.

I have just begun the system @ 1 week now and have had none of the sensistivity issues expressed by others - even though I have been treated for sensitive teeth and gums many times in the past. I am older and thought it wouldn't work, but my hubby says he can see the difference already. If I use too much gel, I get a slight tingle that goes away when I wipe away any excess gel as I was instructed. I will be wary now not to get it on my skin or hands but to say that the pain was excruciating and woke them up? I cannot imagine that, even though I have a disease that affects my nerve tissue. I feel badly for them, because it's working and I am so happy with it so far.

My dental office custom made my trays as outlined in Dr. kurthy's book so I had no extra gook in my mouth. I put a small pea size of the bleaching gel in each tooth and I was good to go! The result was amazing!!!!

The promises made by the Kor whitening system are incredibly exaggerated.

They're very difficult to use. When you put them in, the gel gets all over your mouth, tastes disgusting, and your mouth fills up with horrible gunk just when you're trying to go to sleep.

I had to keep a spit bucket next to the bed every night. Gross.

Although I followed every instruction to the letter, I never came close to white. I had high hopes for this product, but it failed miserably.

I just completed my 3rd night of using the trays. The first day after using the trays I was fine. Yesterday, the 2nd day was painful! Pretty much all day I felt zaps of pain and pain quite like when your teeth are aching due to a cold. Thankfully the evening was fine, as I experienced no pain! I first took Tylenol in the morning, but it did not seem to make a difference, or did it? You mean it could have been far worse pain? In the afternoon, I took Advil and that really helped! I decided to use the desensitizer for the 3rd night, even though the instructions only speak of the first 2 nights. I will see how today goes and I may use it tonight too. I have noticed a change in my teeth as far as whitening and I hope it continues. I am now quite concerned about the in office visit. My dentist does the full 2 hours. I hope it does not hurt. I think I will take a good does of Advil before I go and I will also put vaseline on my lips. My dentist only charged me $300.00!!

I had bleached my teeth before a number of years ago with good results - although some gum irritation. I thought this would be better because of the hype about less irritation. Let me way that this process is unbelievably long -- six weeks for me -- and the worst thing is that my front teeth had awful spotting so that, even though most of my teeth were much whiter, I was ashamed to smile at all. I was told that it would eventually even out, but it did not. I decided to take a break and it was amazing how quickly my teeth reverted back to their pre-treatment shade. Based on the effort required at home and the cost, I couldn't honestly recommend this product.

I cannot recommend KoR teeth whitening on the grounds that the pain I experienced was EXCRUCIATING! Yes, it works, and No, it is not worth the lost sleep resulting form the intense pain, the burned lip during the final in-office session, or the very high cost. Surely there is a less painful, more cost-effective way to brighten your teeth.

My dentist says I have special sensitivity due to gum recession. I have been using Sensodyne toothpaste for many years to lessen sensitivity, so maybe she is right that I am a unique case.

I feel I was not sufficiently informed of the risk of this level of pain. In fact, the website says there is little to no sensitivity. Right. Not my experience. I am so relieved to be done.

I wouldn't quit during the process because I had paid so darn much money for it. I spread out the home treatments for a couple of months, and that helped. But the final one, yikes! Never again will I do that.

WOW! People have paid a lot of money for the Kor system. My dentist is kind of pricey on a lot of things, but this system only cost $595. I got 2 weeks worth of at home whitening, and then an in office whitening that was over 2 hours long. The only part that went bad was I got some of the office bleach (VERY strong stuff) on my lips and on my hands. The girl put vitamin E on it and it soothed the pain. Afterward, my bottom lip was very swollen, but we were talking a lot during the procedure so neither of us thought much of it. I bought some benedryl gel caps and opened them up and rubbed the gel on them. That helped slightly. Later on in the night my top lip became swollen. The top lip almost looks like a blister, like maybe from a chemical burn but neither lip actually "hurts" They are just numb and swollen. I am pretty sure this is going to go away in a day or so. Overall I'm glad I did it. I have been wanting to do whitening for awhile, but I chose now because I am trying to lose weight and was addicted to sweet tea (I AM in Texas!). I knew during the 2 weeks I could not drink carmel colored drinks, so I knew I wouldn't waste the whitening money and drink sweet tea. So now I'm off sweet tea and losing weight again!

After about 3 or 4 days of using the at home whitening trays I saw dramatic results. My husband cannot believe how white my teeth look already. There is some sensitivity, some days worse than others but nothing severe. I think you just have to make sure you use your desensitizing drops as stated. Just make sure you don't use too much in your trays it can burn your gums. I did that twice so far but the pain went away within minutes. I'm only on my first week but so far I am completely satisfied!
