Shimmering White Review

The Shimmering White Brush-on Whitener is a scam. You will see this product advertised on the internet through fake testimonials posted on blogs, forums and phony review sites. The product is also known as Bright Teeth Pro.

Our Observations

  • Shimmering White uses fake testimonial blogs to trick consumers into thinking it is a legitimate product.
  • The product does not work and is over priced for a brush-on teeth whitener.
  • We doubt this was "developed and manufactured by dental professionals." It is not FDA or ADA approved.
  • Shimmering White was never mentioned on any of the listed "as seen on" sites. (Style, OH!, E, Ok!, VH1, etc)
  • The Shimmering White website uses the "limited amount" gimmick to create a false sense of urgency. They do not want you to read the terms and conditions ($59.95 a month!).

I have been trying for several months to get a refund of the fees charged to my credit card. I have reported the company to the BBB and the FTC and the US Attorney General in California, where the company is based. I urge you to contact the FTC at 1-877-FTC-HELP and file a complaint. They will give you a reference number to track your complaint. Once they have enough complaints they will file action against the company. I can be reached at 860-808-4536. Please call. I have beeen battleing with this for over 6 months now I have alot of insight that will help you to get your money back. Thank you,

My husband made a GREAT suggestion...Go and buy a prepaid VISA card with $3.00 on it, get your "free" pen and then when they try to bill the card again, it won't work. If we all did this I'm sure this company wouldnt be too happy!

Hello, -----SCAM, ***KEEP READING***
I too was a victim of this mystery company... Ultifresh does not exist but they are a shipping/warehouse Co. they do not have a legit phone number so here's what you do... You can call CONSUMER AFFAIRS @ 800-952-5210. *****But the actual company that you unknowingly joined is called HEALTHSMILE you can contact them @ 866-825-7477. Don’t call until you return anything you may have received like that little white box that cost $87.62 go to the post office and ask for a delivery confirmation receipt and send it back. Track it @ USPS.COM and when it's received in Colorado BTW call them at the above number and track it with them on the phone then ask for a cancellation number (A must have) and you will get a credit and be done with them. Do it quick, they bill you at least a week before you receive anything. If all else fails report your card stolen and get a new one issued, they can't charge you if the account is closed ......GOOD LUCK!!

Had a similar and B A D experience with these bums. Wouldn't give a credit on Credit Card, only said they it was canceled, didn't give a way to return the product, started charging for other unordered services, and to resolve this, I finally had to cancel the Credit Card after contesting the charges, as the charges kept coming. These folks are located outside the US of A.. their bank is so they can avoid the US laws governing commerce.

Avoid all teeth whiteners on the web.. they will scam you ~

Scammed in in trhe USA and this appears to be a world wide SCAM

Indeed this is a tricky one. I had this problem with 2 products from shimmrering white and unauthorised access to my accounts. BUT READ ON -THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO: This is what you do:

Firstly email [email protected] and ask for a cancellation code. This will automatically stop you from receiving further products.
Secondly, return the product immediately to this addresss with the return number printed on the returning package:
5300 Ontario Mills Pkway, Unit 400, Ontario CA 91764 -
this address is not easily available. *Register the package if you can afford to - I did not.
Third and finally, use the email above ([email protected]) to keep checking when they have received the product in the warehouse. Once they have, like me, they will refund your money as long as it is not over 30 days from you receiving the product.
Good Luck - Dont Give Up x

Free Trial - I should have known nothing in this life is for free- Shimmering White and Dazzle White are the biggest CONS about. If you get to speak to Crystal then good luck to you. They just take money off your account every month and rip you right off!!! You keep getting these useless pens through the post and watch your credit balance expire. Eventually got through to the bizzare Crystal but she just gets you more angry with every second and has the audacity to say Have a FINE DAY at the end of the call. Please don't get caught with this massive con. I saw it at first on what i thought was a legite newspaper website article. Dont Be FOOLED. major SCAM

After being well shafted for just over £400 quid i am fuming,i have just closed my bank account to stop these vile peole and there piggy backing companys taking anymore cash out of it.I tried everything i possibly could to cancel but its like chasing a ghost, phone calls dont work e-mails dont work no return address AHHHHH! and when i did cancel money still came out of my bank account UNDER DIFFERENT COMPANY NAMES i know all these horrible little companys are the same one but with different names and can you find them can you f**k. I spent 2 weeks at home trying to sort this mess out i advise anyone else who has done this to close your bank account down and open a new one, i know its a hassle but it will save you money, dont just cancel your card as they still hve access to your bank account details. i have just been onto the sun website to post a story, at least if they print something about it i will have saved more people being screwed over by what is the biggest internet SCAM ever.My bank have been no bloody use at all as they couldnt stop the payments only when i said i would take my money to a rival bank did they listen. The bank fraud investigation team know all about it but they are pretty powerless to stop it.Cheers for f***ing my christmas over you scumbags!

How well it works - BEST - for the scammers who pinch your hard earned cash!
Agreeability - WORST - for those of us who are scammed!
Affordability - WORST - it costs you £££ money - Loads of time cancelling cards, Stress, etc etc.
Consistency - BEST - Consistently RIP you off EVERYTIME if you try to buy!!!
Convenience - WORST - No credit card, No credit rating, no white teeth !!!

bewarned and stay well away from these scammers,... even the credit card companies say they have no contact details for them!!!!! but they still pay the money out and charge individuals who have been scammed!!!!

Shiimmering White , aka Purlywhite or anything similar is another one of those teeth whiting rip off sites. This one in particular has made it exceptionally hard to try contact them to cancel and if you are oversea’s it virtually impossible. They pull the same scam that that Dazzlesmile pulls (There are already numerous reports on them)

Anyway this is how it works big flashy site promising the world in terms of whiting your teeth with all the usual tons of testimonials, the popup dentist telling you how good this is and how “RISK FREE” the trial is with all the bells and whistles blowing about their satisfaction guarantee excellent service and so on …. The tell tale signs of a scam site are all there and I was dumb enough to fall for It. The $2.95 for the trial, I thought what the hell, if it a scam I don’t care about losing $2.95. I think many people think this and that’s where the catch is because all they want is your credit card details so they can bill you $82.40 per month for every month plus you will have also unlocked your twenty-one-day Wellbeing Tips Comprehensive eBook package for just $9.80 a month thereafter or some fitness site for $20.40 a month.

I’m quite sure the crap they send you is just that crap if their product had any value and is worth something then people would want it and pay a fair price for it not have to join some club and receive monthly shipments.

Back to my experience.. the Alarm bells went off when I completed the order and it now said that I was going to be billed $5.95 instead of the $2.95 plus a site address with a username and password.

Ok so I go back and search the site to why I’ve been billed more and WTF are those two websites that I’m now members of…Well finally in the terms and conditions which is obscurely hidden away I find the following:

“Offer Details: When you order today you'll be signed up as a member of our exclusive preferred customer club. You will be billed $4.95 for the shipping of your 14-day day trial, then once you choose to continue whitening with the Shimmering White System the low member price of only $82.40 per month for every month. And remember, there's never any obligation - you can cancel your membership at anytime by calling 800-856-8676. You have also unlocked your twenty-one-day Wellbeing Tips Comprehensive eBook package for just $9.80 a month thereafter (shows "Wellbeing"), should you choose not to cancel. Prior charges for bonuses are non-refundable but subscription can be cancelled and future charges stopped at any time. To cancel, call toll-free 888-204-5299 for Wellbeing Tips. Orders outside of US pay an additional $9.95 for shipping. No obligation, CANCEL ANYTIME!”

I then do go and start at the beginning of the site to see how the F**K I got scammed… well the landing page is all full of promise and testimonials and a call to action offering the risk free trail at the $2.95 – click on there and you end up at the pace requesting your credit card details. Note that the page lands so that the page is scrolled down a little and the banners look like you are at the top but clearly hiding the small print which says they are about to screw you .. They don’t want you to read this they hide it at the top and ensure that the background and text are similar in color and very small. I missed that the first time around and I’m sure many others did to. At this point I realize I’ve been scamed.

The only thing now is to get out of it .. thank god I did this over the weekend on Sunday and I live in Australia so I’m ahead of time to these F**kers so my bank is open and doing business while they still sleeping.

First thing I do is contact the bank and report that my credit card details has fallen into fraudulent hands and everything need to be blocked from now and for evermore into the future. Well they cancel the card which effectively means that any transaction that tries to go through will be blocked. I’ll get a new credit card in about a week somewhat of an inconvenience but I guess that’s the price I’ve got to pay for been an idiot.

Now it’s almost 11pm Monday night and I’m waiting for it to be 9:00am MNT time so I can call try call these F**Kers and cancel everything … I’m not expecting much success and I also don’t trust them. Regardless I want to do everything to ensure no attempt to get any money from me is made.

In Conclusion .. I’m usually one who stays away from anything that looks like a scam and I usually can recognize one a mile away, and I did with this but because the initial offer was so low I was prepared to take a chance and wasn’t worried about losing $2.95 … I learnt my lesson now the small amount is just the bait the tip of the ice berg, the lower and less significant the offering is the bigger the sting is.

The rules are simple … it’s a scam site if the offering is too good to be true, if blogs and articles sites recommend these site, they are just affiliate marketing. If there is no contact details or difficult to find on the site and the address is a P.O.Box No phone numbers. And most importantly always read the terms and conditions of any site before you hand over any financial details.

don't expect too much from the credit card company, i too was scammed and told credit card company which they placed under investigation. Had letter this morning saying that because i didn't cancel it with the company i can kiss my money goodbye. But with no address for the company and a phoney phone number.....how the hell are you supposed to cancel it!! So now lost £57 and have nothing to show for it!

Just got off the phone with my credit card company....must have had the most annoying man on the phone today, wasn't listening to me at all!! Kept telling me to write to shimmering teeth to cancel!! ARGGGGGGHHHHH!! If i had an address i would!!! Anyway...............after asking to be put through to somebody that would actually listen....they put me through to the fraud department, who will send more forms but HOPEFULLY get my money back (fingers crossed)

So don't give up people, go straight through to the fraud department of your credit card company and try that way.......i'll keep you posted if it works out for me.

I too fell for this one and only realised when I opened my credit card statement today.
They have taken a grand total of £229.16 not including the free trial postage fees.
This was all taken over a period of 14 days and to 4 different companies; Shimmering Teeth, Ultifreshwell, Wellbeing tips and Improve health.

My first step was to get straight on the phone to my credit card company as I had not authorised these transactions. They were absolutely amazing! I was advised that they had already received over 200 calls just in one morning about these companies. The credit card company are sending me cancellation letters for these subscriptions which I have to sign, date and return. Once received, they will do the rest - cancel the subscriptions and have my money refunded. They advised that these collective companies are acting fraudulently and formal investigations are going on.

I hope it does all end well, like the card company have promised. However, I really feel for others who have paid by bank account :-(

It's amazing that this has been allowed to go on for so long. I work hard for a living and find it disgusting that someone is obviously making HUGE amounts of money by being devious and deceptive.
I wish everyone all the best in their battles with these companies and would dearly like to warn others not to go near them with a bargepole - but naturally, we don't come across these types of review sites until it is too late. :-(

I cant believe I have been taken for this scam as usually am so careful. Howerer I was in a rush and doing it for a friend and never read any of the small print. My biggest mistake was thinking that MSN would not post a scam advert on their home page. HA, I cant believe I was that naive.

I have been take for 180 dollars and am sure no way of getting that back but my god what I would give to get my hands on them. Does anyone know where they are based. I would love to give them a little visit. I do travel a lot and really would love to go see their little cretin of a manager.

What a scam. Woman from Bolton discovers a combination of 2 different products really whiten your teeth!
I too thought it was a FREE offer with just under $2 postage. No mention of signing up to anything or them sending anything else in the future. It stated that they would send you a FREE trial and all they wanted in return was you to fill in a questionaire on line as to how well it worked. Simple? Free? NO problem? Thought it was worth a go.
Suddenly well over a £130 had disappeared on beauty product companies (4 different ones) from my bank account within a week of sending for the FREE offer. Thank goodness the fraud section of my bank were on the ball and rang me to ask if I had made these payments. My bank refunded the payments prior to investigation.
Watch out for these free offers. I can't believe I fell for it and the product doesn't work.

I was stupid enough to follow this link:
http://myteethtrick.com/my-white-teeth.php?t202id=55083&t202kw=PN
It recommends these two products:

1)Smile Whites
https://www.smilewhitespro.com/?partner=LCM_promo&referenceid=377549860
2)Denta White
http://white-smiles.com/?S=0008&P=401599&X=377569790&css=dental.2

This is huge scam, they sign you up for 1 year plan and charge you every month without any notification. I also noticed that they change the return address so that you will not be able to return their trial stuff back in time.

I also fell for this and it has cost me £140 so far!!

I have cancelled the debit card that I used.

I thought that this would do it, however, my bank (Lloyds TSB) have informed me that cancelling your debit card does not stop the money being taken from it. You must also cancel the subscription.

You then have to wait 15 days from the date that you cancel the agreement for the money to stop being taken from the debit card (as the bank can stop the transactions after this point).

Best of Luck.

Hi Guys, I have been part of this scam too! Sadly I didnt realise it's a scam for a month, so i have lost over 100 quid! Firstly charges $8.00 from PURE WHITE - okay, I thought it's delivery fee. Secondly another $6,89 from Shimmering White - okay, I thougt it's delivery fee for the second product. In the same time PURELY WHITE charged me $89 so I sent them an email immediately asking for cancellation - no response. Now I checked my statement and WELLBEINGTIPS charged me another $9 and apparently will do so every month!

So I have taken following steps:

1. email: [email protected] and [email protected] informing them that I want to cancel and return the products, membership and anything else associated with those companies.

2. Cancel my cards, as I don't want to go mental and check my statement every hour so just did it for a peace of mind.

Now awaiting confirmation from this CON company as of they've cancelled the order and want me to return this S*H*I*T*

BE AWARE I wasn't and am 100 pounds poorer!!

Me too. Is there nothing we can all do collectively to shut this down. There must be someone out there that can stop this from happening to good honest people.

If a person was mugged for their money; it would be considered a serious crime.... that's what has happened to everyone here. We've all be mugged. I would love to go round to their offices and give this bunch geeks a good old honest bashing.

I signed up for the free trial, unaware of what I was letting myself in for. I tried the product, it didn't work, and I thought that was the end of it. However, I then received e-mails telling me that further goods were on the way. The tracking number they sent turned out to be useless, so I tried to contact the company themselves. After several days of trying to get through, I eventually managed to speak to 'Crystal' who told me that this is what I had signed up for and I needed an authorisation code in order to return the goods.

While I was waiting for the delivery in order to return them, I received my credit card statement. On it were five separate charges made during a two week period, from four different companies. I only recognised the name of one of them, but they were all obviously linked to Shimmering White, something which a bit of research on the web confirmed. For information the names were as follows:-

Shimmering Teeth
Pristinehealth
Well Being Tips

So, back on the phone to 'Crystal' (different voice/accent but same name) who confirmed that they were a group of companies told me the names of the other companies were not relevant to me. When I insisted that the names of the other companies were relevant to me, she hung up.

I have since cancelled my credit card, and have been assured by the credit card company that not further demands for funds from any of these names will be paid. They have also told me that this is not the first that they have heard of these people, and they are currently engaged in a more thorough investigation of their business practices. Despite this, it looks like I will end up being out of pocket for almost £200. My advice is avoid them at all costs.

I also fell for these conmen I received my trial which wasnt anygood anyways, to then look into my bank account 2weeks later and found that these bastards had taken over £200 out of my account. I immediatley got incontact with my bank who quickly cancelled my debit card, they advised me to call these people which I did and was left on hold for half an hour, I then tried another number and it had been cut off. Please Please Please dont get taken in by this shit.

Oh dear God, how the hell do I get these Scheiße conmen to stop giving out my credit card details to others, especially since the message on their answerphone stipulated the they WOULD NOT pass my details to any body else. Yah right!
Since they are the liars and thieves, why are they not being sued? [Probably because no one knows where they are.]

I too fell for this shimmering white load of crap!

If you fall victim to this I would suggest the following:

1 - Cancel your credit or debit card immediately with your Bank and inform them of what has potentially happened!
(They cancelled my cards immediately and they said i was lucky because i was still in the 14 day cancellation period and no charges have been or are pending to my account... new cards will take a while to come, but its a small price to pay) They have told me that my cards are now void and they wont be able to charge anything to the new cards!

2 - Call shimmering white and ask to cancel your trial period membership (numbers are on their make shift website), now, be nice to them on the phone otherwise i think you may hit a concrete wall and they will half ass you around! They confirmed everything had been cancelled and gave me a confirmation code (make sure you get this before hanging up)

3 - Take a note of when you spoke to them (take the advisor name etc)

4 - call your bank back and let them know what was said and give them cancellation code etc and ask them to put a watch on your new credit card account just in case!

Hope i have been a lucky victim here! Sorry to hear about you guys that wearnt!

PostHeaderIcon CONSUMER ALERT: Be Wary Of Potential Teeth Whitening Scams
May 7th, 2009 | Author: Blake Pertuset

What's one of the easiest ways to improve your appearance and self esteem at the same time? If you answered "teeth whitening", you're correct. That being said, it's important to find the right product for you without spending too much. The problem with this is that I've noticed a number of rather questionable sites out there promoting professional teeth whitening kits for little or no cost, which also pull you into continuity programs you probably didn't know existed. I took the time to read the fine print on one such site and found that while you may get your "free trial" for under $2.00, the resulting charge if kept beyond the trial period was over $70.00

For example, if you search for anything about teeth whitening you're likely to see a number of sponsored links about some teeth whitening trick discovered by a local mom. The only trick involved is how they get people to fork over their credit card details for a relatively small shipping cost, only to eventually slam you with charges for products that you might very well not even receive. These sites all look the same, and feature the same reused images, testimonials, reviews, and point to the same products. While I can't vouch for any of the products themselves or their effectiveness, you can CLICK HERE for a truly legitimate site that features reviews of these products.

Some things to watch for are the counters that seem to indicate that you only have a set amount of time to get their offers. They count all the way down to zero, and then absolutely nothing happens. Big surprise. I'll also tell you that these pages are ridiculously hard to navigate away from, as when you try to close the window a live chat window opens where they pitch you on paying sometimes less than $2.00 for shipping on the product. Another one lets you choose what shade of teeth you want, how quickly you want to achieve those results, and how long you want them to last. You then enter your ZIP code and it will tell you that there are only 11 free trials left in your city. Here in Lexington, KY that might make sense, but when I used the ever popular 90210 ZIP code I got the same result. Oh my, only 11 trials for Beverly Hills, CA? Many of them use celebrity images as well to give you the impression that the stars are getting their pearly whites from these products.

Another sketchy aspect is that of fake reviews. One even had a post by a man asking the question "does this work for men too?". Really? What makes this stand out as dishonest is the fact that there is absolutely nowhere on the page to post a comment, and no "contact us" form either. In a lot of cases they'll either only review their products, or if they include other ones then they will obviously give them poor reviews.

IT IS A COMPLETE SCAM FROM START TO FINISH! CANCEL YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD NOW!!!!!

This company also trades via AtLast Fulfillment. It is this company who will inform you that your trial offer will be sent by UPS and will give you a false tracking number and a false website to track the item. Which you will be unable to track your item or call their help line, believe me I have tried!

When you receive the package (which if you are out of the US, will also be charged by customs up to $20), do not pay the customs charges and tell the courier to return to sender!

This is AtLast Fulfillments US BBB report:

http://www.bbb.org/denver/business-reviews/fulfillment-services/atlast-fulfillment-in-aurora-co-48000586

Read this, it is not good:

Industry Tips

FREE Trial Offers

A very prevalent practice seen in the marketplace today is using the "FREE Trial" method to sell products. This allows a potential customer to preview a product at no charge with the idea that the product will sell itself and the participant will end up purchasing the product. There are plenty of offers that have no strings attached; however, your BBB is here to educate you about the strings that are attached in many cases.

Whether you order a product online or by phone, make sure you have all of the information about potential charges up front. If the product is being mailed to you, make sure you know whether or not you are responsible for the shipping charge, (that is usually never free) and make sure you know how much that will be. Also, a "free trial" indicates that you are trying a product for a period of time, usually 10 or 14 days. Make sure you know what your responsibilities are when the trial period is over. If you will be charged for the product at the end of the trial period, know how much that will cost because it is usually an automatic withdrawal from your debit or credit card. To avoid this charge, you are usually required to send the product back to the company. Make sure you know ahead of time exactly when this needs to be sent back by, in order to avoid the charge. Let it be very clear to you when the free trial starts-is it X amount of days from the time you order the product or from the time you receive the product?

It is also very important to be aware of how continuity or auto-ship programs work. These kinds of programs are highly associated with free trial offers. This happens when you do not send the product back and you are billed for it. Many consumers think that's the end of it: they've paid for the product and it's theirs to keep. What must be clear is that most times when participating in a free trial offer, you have agreed to allow the company to continue to send you--and charge you directly from your credit or debit card--for more products on a consistent basis until you contact them and cancel the plan.

Remember:

-Always check the company out with your BBB first!
-Be clear as to when your free trial starts and ends.
-Know the company's policies for sending items back: how to properly send it and if they charge for damaged packaging.
-Know exactly what you will be charged if you decide to keep the product.
-Find out if your acceptance of the product at the end of the free trial automatically puts you on a continuity plan.

I too gave my credit card information to this company, and to my dismay, its surprising that there are still companies on the internet making us all look like suckers. I know better than this, i usually don't fall for Scams.... this one got past my defenses!
My first negative reaction was the 12.95 $ charge on my card, which was different from the 3 dollars the site had stated. 6 days after ordering the product i decided to call them to cancel. Well the lady on the phone gave me the run around, saying i need to wait until the 20th which conveniently runs on the last day of the 14 day trial. Another shady statement i did not like. A trial is a trial, and they seem to not grasp this.

What to do: Contact both companies, and cancel immediately. Get a confirmation number as well; Use what "what a scam", stafford user wrote for contact information <---- very informative :)

Contact credit card company and make aware of scam, and you do not any further purchases from these 2 companies. Regularly check your card statements on progress.

When you get the product... DO Not open it!
RE-SEND IT! to mailing address provided by users above. Make sure you include the confirmation number on the return mailing address.
Note*: Make note of the date you cancelled for credit card purposes.

Dont let this ruin your online purchasing fun, but just be careful and do some research before you give in.

Please be aware of Dazzle White and Shimmer White they will con you.

If you sign up for the trial product Shimmer White tie you into a monthly subscription with them and Wellbeing. Dazzle White also tie into a monthly subscription with them and World Club Fittness. You will not realise this unless you read the small print and terms and conditions it is there so beware they have a get out clause. I know may people do not think they are signing up for something with a trail product but beware.

I have contacted Dazzel White and cancelled the subscription after they charged me for a month the others are proving a lot more difficult. Contact your card provider, get them to complain and cancel the card as you do not know who else has been affilited with them.

The simple message is do not use and let as may people as possible know. Yes I would love to string them up but I should have reaqd the small print as with every thing thees days.

Yes it is a SCAM. What to do. Forget about cancelling your order or returning the product back etc. etc.

Cancel your card like YESTERDAY! (whether is debit or credit) and dispute all charges made on your card and file a charge back by explaining to your card supplier that you were charged without your consent and it is a SCAM. If you have used a debit card I'm not sure if you can file a charge back, BUT stop the card immediately, right now if not YESTERDAY!

These people should go to jail for years and years. It is so immoral!!!!

Good luck to you all....

I have canceled both subscriptions and have packaged them up to be sent off for a refund.

I have just canceled my credit card and realised that I won't be issued a refund now because my details will no longer be valid.

What do I do?

I couldn't possibly give these bastards my details again!!

I have fallen for this too. The only thing you can do is cancel your card immediately and get a new one issued with a different number. This is really inconvenient but necessary.
Call the live chat and cancel both orders. Don't forget the Wellbeing scam and the similar one connected with Dazzle. They have signed you up to pay for these without you even knowing!
An amount will have been charged to you already but at least this keeps it to a minimum. (Your credit card company may also pay it)
The product doesn't work anyway so don't even try it-just send it back asap!
