I think its great for what you pay. For those of you who didn't bother to read the instructions, it's NOT toothpaste to use alone and you should see results within a week --i saw results the 1st day :)

For less than $5 I was skeptical but figured it was only $5 to lose. I had just as good of results using this product with my tooth paste twice a day as I did using various whitening strips. Check out the picture! Before use and then after the 6th day!!!

The product is effective and shows great results. After consitent use with toothpaste, it delivers exactly what it promises.....whiter teeth in a short time.Follow directions and be sure to use along with toothpaste. although, on occasion, I have used it alone and had no problem.
Was skeptical at first but it was cheap so i thought id give it a go. Works great, no problems coming from it either. Most people probably use it just as a toothpaste, which it is not. You add a little dab to a real tooth paste, people are using it incorrectly. Also, it has the exact same ingredient as all the strips and mouthwashes, peroxide, which is a bleach commonly used for teeth whitening

I just recently bought this product and i LOVE it. I don't know what all of you are talking about. My teeth always got really sensitive when i used crest white strips but with this I don't feel anything! I can already see my teeth getting whiter. Will be buying this again!

This product does NOT work. Taste is OK, and it doesn't make teeth hurt or become sensitive, but it's TOTALLY ineffective, as far as I can tell.
I used arm and hammer months ago but stopped as skin from inside my mouth was just peeling off but I started using it again 4 days ago and I have a sore at the top of my mouth and skin at the bottom just burned off, it's only sore when I brush my teeth but judging from comments on here I don't think I will continue using this product

I use arm and hammer toothpaste and the whitening booster every day. i absolutely love it. My teeth are much whiter and look healthy. I use it twice a day for a cleaner smile and breath.

FYI for the smarties who believe this is a toothpaste. Directions :re printed by law for a reason and you prove it. It plainly says in the name ''whitening booster''. Where toothpaste is involved is the reason you suffered in pain.
WHY DOES ARM & HAMMER TOOTHPASTE HAVE SUCH A LARGE TUBE, WHEN HALF OF IT IS TAKEN UP BY AN AIRPOCKET ???

Please rethink purchasing this product. After using this product for 2 days I broke out with a rash in my mouth, lips and corners of my mouth. On investigating on what I had changed in my daily routine the toothpaste came to mind. I discontinued using it for about 3 weeks and gave it another try 2 days ago to confirm my suspicion. Yesterday morning I woke up with a swollen lower lip, sores in and around my mouth and the feeling of numbness in the tissue around my lower teeth. I now know that it could only be the toothpaste. I would hate to think a child uses this product.

Sounds like you got herpes, highly doubt its the toothpaste...
I can assure you that it is not Herpes. My dentist confirmed my suspicion.
its not toothpaste retard... you add it to your toothpaste
It was a little slow at first but after a couple days it showed results! All these people say it stinks thats cuz you have to mix it with another toothpaste
This toothpaste SUCKS! Thank goodness I'm not crazy and other people have had the burning, sores, sensitivity and swollen lips. I KNEW that's what it was and stopped after 3 days. Feeling better already.

don't buy this toohtpaste i bought it last week and it has burnt all over the inside of my mouth and my lips are swollen i havem't been able to eat or drink from last week i have been treated in hospital with steroids the pain has been so bad none of the painkillers are working i will certainly be taking this further

I bought this 3 days ago. I can tell a slight difference already. It really has made me brush my teeth a little bit longer, thus letting the booster work. I love it so far.

DO NOT BUY THIS TOOTHPASTE! I have never had an issue with any brand of toothpaste before, but arm and hammer is awful. Both my husband and I had serious issues with it. After 2 days of use, we both had swollen tongues and lips. The inside of my mouth is very irritated and in some places open sores developed. It took 4 days for my mouth to get back to normal. Never had this issue before! Will not be buying again.

THIS IS NOT A TOOTHPASTE, you add it to toothpaste
Just because you had a bad reaction doesn't mean the product doesn't work. Therefore you shouldn't recommend that people don't buy it. Sharing your reaction is helpful, but you took it too far.
It isn't toothpaste, you idiot.
if its not toothpaste why does it say toothpaste on the container?
"if its not toothpaste why does it say toothpaste on the container?" Um, it doesn't...unless you are reviewing the wrong thing. My box and every picture I can find of it on the internet says "Whitening Booster". Ergo, not a toothpaste. The directions on the back even say 1. "Add toothpaste" 2. "Add Booster", etc. People should read the directions before you put anything in your mouth or on your body. Just saying.........
dumbass.... NOT TOOTHPASTE
I did an expensive teeth whitening proceedure at the the dentist's office about a year ago. After a year of drinking tea and coffee, the yellowish colour was starting to come back. I still had the trays that the dentist gave me, so I started using this gel in them. The results are just as good as the gel that the dentist gave me. Not sure how well it'd work just added to toothpaste, but the way I've been using it has worked really well. Though, if you have sensitivity to peroxide, obviously this isn't going to be the product for you.
Recommended by Mandrake
Thank you, this is exactly what I was wondering. I have trays from whitening years ago and have bought on-line, every few years, the same expensive brand the Dentist used and it worked as well as originally.
I recently came across the A&H Whitening Booster and it seemed to be almost exactly the same as my original whitener, (peroxide taste/foaming/whitening).
I'll try it in my trays and return with my feedback but based on your experience and the on the other comments on this board I expect it will work just as well.
FOR ANYONE LOOKING INTO IT:
IMO, This is not a product for people who are sensitive to peroxide.
Also, this is NOT toothpaste, if you are following an off-label use, know what you doing.
around April/May I used this product and loved how it worked. The next day I had a red rash around the corners of my mouth and it was very painful and sore. I kept on using it but finally had to stop because my mouth was so sore and had started cracking, bleeding, etc. I could barely open my mouth (the rash took over a month to finally go away and ruined my graduation pictures). I forgot about it until I was packing for college and found it. I used it and made sure to wash around my mouth really well, the next day the rash was back. This time the rash wasn't as bad and went away mostly by the end of the week. Since I was using the product with arm&hammer whitening toothpaste I put the booster on some other brand hoping the toothpaste was what was causing the rash. The rash is back and stings constantly! It's only been a day since I reused it but now I know it was the booster causing my rash, which is really sad because I LOVE how it worked.
I serve in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. I made the mistake of buying the Arm & Hammer whitening toothpaste. As I developed burning in all the tissues in my mouth and my lips became swollen I presumed it was from some of the water I consumed over here. No, alas it was the stupid toothpaste I was using. This junk should be banned. What is in it, battery acid? It sure seems like it. I do not have a photo to submit as suggested, instead I can only tell you that I have endured a lot over here, I do not complain, but the last thing I needed was to spend days and weeks with the discomfort caused by stupid toothpaste. I vow to never buy another Arm & Hammer product again.

This is NOT A TOOTHPASTE, it is an additive you use combined with regular toothpaste. Teeth whitening products contain hydrogen peroxide and tend to irritate gums and cause tooth sensitivity. If you were using this full strength as toothpaste instead of following the directions, no wonder your mouth was in pain! I hope you don't need to rely on any instruction manuals for weaponry or other dangerous military equipment, you might end up with something worse than irritated gums!
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS PEOPLE! This is from the product label:
Whitening Booster is not an anticavity fluoride-containing toothpaste. Should not be used alone. Must be used in combination with toothpaste.
Thanks for the kind thoughts Sally. No, what I used was toothpaste and it was made by Arm & Hammer. No, it was not some sort of additional whitener. Even in the Army we can read a little bit. Shame, appears you can read too, but you can never change ugly Sally and you are just plain ugly and that will never change even if you use special toothpaste.
Then you're probably reviewing the wrong product. This page is for a booster, not a toothpaste. They're different things.
David!! I did the same thing!! It IS a toothpaste, not a booster!. I used the same toothpaste, read the directions well before I used it. It says to brush your teeth twice daily using the product. It says nothing about being used with other products as a booster. My lips swelled up to twice their size, split the corners or my mouth, my tongue was on fire, and my gums and internal mouth tissue was swollen, red, and in pain. I had to go to the hospital. You are not alone on this one. I am in the army as well, with three degrees. Nobody cares about Sally's dumb thoughts. She's just being rude and wasting perfectly good commenting space. Whats more dumb, (hypothetically) misusing a product, or being sally? Thats a no-brainer.
PROBLEM IS THE STUFF MADE MY LOWER LIP SWELL TO THREE TIMES NORMAL SIZE. AND MY LOWER LIP BECAME RED AND INFLAMED. This went away afterthree or four days. My teeth much whiter though. Perhaps this should be marketed as awrinkle remover - certainly puffed up my lower lip considerably.

You mean botox. How does that relate to wrinkles?
After using this product for a year. I loved it. There was whitening to some degree, product was easy to use and somewhat inexpesive. Arm & Hammer came out with a new product. Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster Plus which contains (ACP) Amorphous Calcium Phosphate. I too had problems with the protective tissue in my mouth. Not only did my mouth and lips get extremely sensitive. I developed painful blisters which became open sores. This all developed after one use. It took a prescription mouth swish and swallow and weeks to heal. Not thinking that the product may have been the cause, (being that I never had any sensitivity to the regular Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster. I tried it again after my mouth was healed. Immediately the same thing happened AGAIN! Be Cautious using the products you may have a sensitivity or allergy to the ingredients. I wasn't able to eat or drink anything for weeks because of severe mouth pain! Great for a diet plan, but not what I was trying to achive!

If you couldn't eat or drink anything "for weeks" you'd be dead; you cannot go more than a couple of days without water. Sorry you had a bad time, but I think you're exaggerating just a wee bit.
For JM in Nashville,TN
I began to use product a few months ago. 2 weeks ago I began also to have sores in mouth and on my tongue, and it is indeed uncomfortable and painful I was unsure what was causing this until I decided to research the product and saw your post. Guess I will be calling the doctor tomorrow; and not ever using this product again.
Edna,California 's reply to your post was absurd.RCd
I was using this product for a few months myself. My gums started hurting and I was feeling strange sensations on the tip of my tongue. I kept using it not knowing that this was possibly causing me these sensations. Then, I had an ulcer like on my tongue for few weeks now. Did this happen to anyone? I still feel the strange sensation on the tongue, some dry feeling and my issue on my tongue, it feels like its cut, burning and stings. Has anyone else had issue such as these with this product?? Thank You
I have since gone to the doctor.Same symptoms as you are having. I was given an ORAL medication to swish and swallow called Nystatin for 7 days. It is disgusting, but starting to help. Mine started too as an irritation on my tongue, then spread to rest of tongue. I ,of course , discontinued using this product.
Good Luck to you
To Karla and Carol, I'm sorry that the both of you had to experience some of the same issues I had with the same product. To Edna, Anyone who knows me knows I don't exaggerate! I usually won't say much or even post a comment in any way if a product is somewhat disappointing. I posted a comment so that others may use some caution using this product, and to others still who tried the product and had a reaction to it and are looking for some answers. When I say I couldn't eat much I meant it. All of the soft tissue of my mouth and lips was stripped raw. It was extremely painful to eat anything or drink anything and yes it was for at least 3-4 weeks! It took a long time to heal. I managed to sustain my calorie needs with a liquid diet although it was painful to drink anything as well. All I can say is... unless you go through it you can't possiably understand it!
Yes JM, Thank you for your kind reply. You were not exaggerating. The pain and soreness is extremely uncomfortable. To eat is painful and certainly not enjoyable.
I was surprised to find I had lost 6 pounds, as I am a smaller person to begin with. The discomfort and unpleasant feeling diminishes our normal appetite as well.
I was very glad to find you post on this issue. I was researching for answers, and that we consumers are able to share in these posts is a very good thing indeed. So Thank you for posting. It enabled me to read and go better informed to my doctor about this. Regards...
My problem was my lower lip swelled considerably. Took two baby aspirin to get swelling down which helped a bit. Lasted a few days. TO JM in Nashville, it sounds like you might have had Steven's Johnson disease with the soft tissue and mouth sore. I'd say you are
lucky to be alive. If you have not seen a Dr. - you might want to do so. You may also want to research "steven's johnson disease" on Bing or google. It is very serious.
Can't totally blame the product - as some people just have a very serious reaction to certain things. Best regards,
After 2 weeks of use, my teeth do seem whiter. It is easy to use, so I intend to keep useing it.

I have to say the product does work very well....but the packaging/dispensing stinks! I am a dental assistant and have been handing out samples of this product with great results...yet, the same complaint. Arthritis or NOT...it is not easy to "squeeze" the product out of its container. It's nearly impossible...fun trying to balance my toothbrush so that I can squeeeeeeeze with both hands just to watch my toothbrush tumble to it's side and watch the boosting agent go down the drain. A standard "TUBE" would suffice for this product? Don't know who came up with this "dispenser"? I mean seriously...if there's a testing department....would they not all agree? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Recommended by Helen French-Mellon
I so agree about the packaging. I can't seem to squeeze it hard enough unless I put my toothbrush on the counter (yuck) and squeeze with both hands. It does a pretty good job but the effort it takes is not worth it. Sadly, I guess I need to go back to the inconvenience of the strips. Please consider changing the packaging.
I was in search of a product that was safe, convenient & easy to use. I tried the Arm & Hammer booster thinking I had found the perfect product. Because I already use and love the A&H Advance tooth paste, I trusted this product. I didn't observe any dramatic change to the color of my teeth, they just felt clean. After using it twice a day for approximately 7 to 8 days, I developed a lot of sensitivity "not with my teeth" but in my mouth. All of my protective tissue on the inside of my mouth was burned off. My tongue became sensitive to spicy foods and worst of all my normally pink gums turned black. Sometimes because of the previously listed symptoms my lips, tongue & the inside of my jaw would fuse shut until I work up saliva to dislodge them. It's been more than two months since I've used the product and my mouth is still getting back to normal but my gums remain dark. My dentist said that some users will find whiteners too abrasive and prescribed a rinse to help. Is it just me? This problem, in my opinion is worth addressing.
Recommended by L. Martin
This is EXACTLY what is happening to me!! It has taken me months to finally realize that this is an allergic reaction to the Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster PLUS - the original Booster did not do this. The inside of of my mouth only - not the gums - has become swollen with a weird sensation - and it takes quite a while for it to go away :(
Update to A&H Booster Nov 20 '10
My gums are pink again and the stickiness in my mouth is gone. I still use A&H Advance tooth paste along with a bit of Sensodyne' Pronamel but I will not be trying the booster again. I took approximately 4-months for my mouth to get back to normal.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with this product. It sure helped to read this, because I had the same thing happen to me. When I first began using this, I mistakenly brushed my teeth first with toothpaste, rinsed, and then brushed with the whitening booster with enamel. Then, I left the booster in my mouth for a few minutes extra, just to be sure I got the most benefit:( Not good...After my mouth tissue sloughed off I started trying to find others with this issue and found you. So I don't know if I am allergic or just applied it wrong, stupidly! But it has been about 3 months and my mouth is better but still "sticks" when it gets dry. Have either of you talked to the company about this issue? Thankfully my gums were not affected. Such a bummer because I had great results at the beginning.
Just looked up the ingredients for the original booster vs the booster plus. The only difference is: booster plus has calcium chloride vs original booster which uses dicalcium phosphate. They are quite different it appears, as the calcium chloride info states "Calcium chloride can act as an irritant by desiccating moist skin. Solid calcium chloride dissolves exothermically and burns can result in the mouth and esophagus if calcium chloride is ingested." Maybe this added to the problem for the three of us. Just a thought...maybe that's why you didn't have the same problem with the Original Booster, Connie.
AMAZING YES SO HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!

I've been using it for over a year now. I noticed a whiter color. It wasn't seriously drastic, but there's no more yellowish tone. I stopped using it for a week & my teeth started looking like the "old" stained color. As long as you keep using it - every time you brush - you'll see the difference. Just tap the bottle on the counter a couple of times before each use. :)

I am a dental hygienist and I LOVE this product especially when used with Arm and hammer toothpaste. I personally use this product and it is the product I stress to my patients (especially the ones who are my stain formers) I have seen the results on the amount of stain patients come in with. If you want Hollywood white teeth this won't be the way to achieve it but it is a way to keep the teeth brighter and a shade whiter. Don't expect radical results.

WHO EVER DESIGN THE BOTTLE SHOULD TO LOSE THEIR JOB. TAPPING ON THE
SINK DOES NOT WORK. USING TOOTHPASTE SHOULDN'T BE A JOB.
To Lara who says "stop complaining people": The senior lady here spoke for many of us with arthritis in our hands, thumb joints, and diminished muscle strength. All day long, we deal with objects that are slippery, hard to grasp, or stuck, and it hurts every time. You need some empathy, Lara. Try walking in our shoes. Our feet hurt, too.
i've been using for three weeks as directed. i haven't seen the slightest change. i apply to my tooth brush (with toothpaste) very generously brush for about 3 minutes spit and just let it sit for two( morning mid day and before bed) . still haven't noticed a difference. a lot of the answers posted seem staged. well at least it was only 5 bucks wasted.

Love the product. But as a senior citizen it is very hard to squeeze the bottle. I tap as directed but it doesn't make it any easier to get out. Sometimes I have to use two hands and by doing that I sometimes over squeeze and too much comes out. There must be a better way. Again I love the product.

It works as well, if not better, than most whitening strips. The price is great and I saw a difference after the first use.

I'm actually impressed. I bought it at the grocery store as an impulse purchase, because for 5 bucks, why not? I saw a difference by the next day! I was completely shocked. I've used the white strips, whitening mouthwashes, different whitening toothpastes and even a $100 at-home kit and saw no difference. I recently looked into Zoom whitening, and now I don't think I'll need it.

HOW WELL IT WORKS:I bought this product not too long ago, and it has worked great for me! I'm a dancer and we wear a lot of red lipstick for performances and on stage. Before the red lipstick made my teeth look yellowish and dull but now (even without red lipstick) I've been getting numerous compliments on my smile looking white and bright. People have been complaining about experiencing tooth sensitivity, but I haven't had that at all. I suggest getting the one that I purchased instead of the regular one: Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster PLUS with Enamel Strengthening.AGREEABILITY:I feel like the Enamel Strenghening touch to this product is great because I haven't had any problem with sensitivity. It whitens my teeth not too much, but not too little. It's perfect for me. People have been complaining it doesn't come out of the bottle/tube that well, but I tap mine against the counter (like it directs you to do) about ten times each use. No problem! The taste doesn't bother me at all either. It's minty fresh!AFFORDABILITY:I purchased mine at Walmart for around $2.97 + tax. Great price!!CONSISTENCY:I've been using this product for a while now and it has just been making my teeth whiter and whiter with no sensitivity whatsoever. Love! It polishes my teeth, and even the space sin between.CONVENIENCE:Easy to agree with price, easy to use, it's perfect!Overall, this product has worked perfectly for me. It may have different results on different people because our teeth are not all the same. I suggest you try it out (especially since it's so affordable, under $10!!) and if it doesn't work for you, give it to a friend for them to try out. I will be purchasing this product right away once I finish my bottle. Great price, great product, amazing results!!

Have used this product for the past year along with Rembrandt toothpaste. After
about two weeks I noticed that a lot of stains between my teeth (via coffee and

using baking soda even as abrasive as it is. It appears to have made my teeth whi-
ter. The other day my wife asked me if I had my night guard on to which I told her
no. My teeth looked so uniformly white. I am very satisfied with this product and
wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone !
Are You Kidding Me? i Love this Stuff,The Taste isnt all that great but for $4 bucks at walmart..DANG! i got crest white strips wor, but i was in tears pain!So $4 compared to $30 is Worth it. two days and i can see a difference.

I love this product! I get lots of compliments on my teeth and smile. I think this product is easy to use - just tap a few times on the counter and spread an equal amount of gel on top of your favorite toothpaste. I can tell when the bottle is near empty - the gel doesn't release as easily and the bottle feels really light. I started to experience some sensitivity when using this product, but when I combined this whitener with Sensodyne or Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste, the sensitivity went away. This product is a little expensive but is worth the cost when compared to other whitening strips or professional whitening treatments.

How is it expensive?? It's only $5...
Dear D. Cline from WV. Thank you for your question. In my original comment, I stated that I felt this product was "...a little expensive". $5.00 (more than a regular tube of toothpaste) may not seem like much to you but it is for some folks. That's why I added that I thought the product was "... worth the cost".
This product works great and is easy to use. There is nothing wrong with the bottle design, read what it says people, tap the bottle on the countertop.

I absolutly love arm and hammer. Great priuctions you willIf you follow the box instructions you will get results. I brushed 3 times a day and that night saw a difference. I swearit changed atleast 2 shades for me. my teeth are pretty normal white but near the gums they were orangish but by that night they were light yello. i couldn't beleive it! AND absolutly no sensitivity. not for me atleast, no burning either. i deffinatly recommend for people who need a little whitening. but if you need more than it might take some time. i do hate the tube it is a huge down fall on the companyy for doing that but its a good product.
