My first week using it and I took pictures. Very visible difference. Does not hurt my mouth like what people's comments below me state, but we are all different. I feel great ad my teeth are only getting whiter. Coffee drinkers--this is a miracle in a tube.

I've been a Colgate tooth paste user my entire adult life. Thought I would try the Optic White tooth paste back in September of 2017. I would periodically get swollen lips and canker sores in the roof of my mouth. Also, would get heat rash in my waste and thigh area as the day went on, specially in the evenings. Contacted my doctor and he put me on a 6 day dosage or prednisone. I got a little better but the symptoms came back. Doctor said I was having an allergic reaction to something and was going to send me to a specialist. The only change in my diet or high gene procedures was I started using the Optic White toothpaste. So I went back to my normal Colgate tooth paste and now no swollen lips or rashes. This is a scary product, can't believe they are still marketing this product.

I went through an entire tube over a few weeks time with no problems. It did whiten my teeth a few shades, but did not have a dramatic effect. I liked the tatse and feel. The problem came with the 2nd tube I purchased. I started experiencing tooth sensitivity and some pain. I've had the sensitivity before after using other whitening products for a period of time. My guess is they are not really meant to be used for lengthy periods and should be something used every once in a while as needed. I will go back to my regular toothpaste (which also happens to be Colgate brand) and just use the optic white as needed.

Have used this product for about a month. Saw no improvement in my teeth but did notice a problem with extremely dry lips. After ruling out face creams, etc finally narrowed it down to this toothpaste. Lips are getting better since I stopped using it. Now it's going in the garbage!

This product gave me a rash around my mouth/lips. Left my lips chapped. Once I stopped using it, the rash went away.

I was getting tired of my toothpaste about two months ago. I like having white teeth so decided to try this toothpaste. I never made the connection until recently so decided to share it here. I had such a dry mouth all the time and a white coating on my tongue even though I am a thorough "rinser". My lower lip especially was peeling skin (I'm guessing from when I was rinsing and the runoff would go over the lower lip). Anyway, I stopped using this product and all the symptoms I described above totally disappeared. This stuff has sodium laurel sulfate (a problem for many people) and propylene glycol which is dangeous for many. I cannot recommend and would tell others to immediately stop, even if you are showing no symptoms.

The inside of my mouth has peeled completely off multiple times after just a few uses of this toothpaste. I don't mean just a little bit of surface sloughing - I mean my ENTIRE MOUTH, in thick layers. I wouldn't be worried about it if it only did it once, but this is literally a daily occurrence, continually. I didn't realize it was the toothpaste until I got so concerned I started Googling this odd symptom to see if I could figure out what was causing it, and one of the very first results that came up was a dentist's website where the doctor specifically stated this is caused by a certain type of toothpaste - and he went on to list the top 3 offenders by name. Colgate Optic White was #2 on the list. Mystery solved...but still a worrisome thing. He called it an allergic reaction but it seems more to me like an ingredient is just unnecessarily strong. Something this overly potent maybe shouldn't be on the general market...?

Horrible! My dentist uses this to whiten her patients teeth. She's used it on me and she would just put a little bit on my teeth and let it sit for 5 minutes and I would rinse. My teeth would look great but my gums would burn and would end up peeling by the time I left. I figured that was only because she would let it sit on my teeth for a while. I ended up buying it. I used it maybe 2 or 3 times and now my tongue has several canker sores all grouped in clusters making it worse, on top of my tongue, on the sides, all over the bottom of my tongue, everywhere. There are white and red spots on my tongue, and there are blisters behind my upper lip and my inner cheek. Like real blisters. The kind you get from a burn that forms a bubble of puss. Yep. There are 5 in my mouth right now. My gums are also peeling. It's as pleasant as it sounds. The pain is truly awful and I can barely eat. I threw this toothpaste out immediately after I realized other people were experiencing similar reactions from this toothpaste. Stay away from it.

Do not use this product! I thought I had some strange infection that was causing sores inside my cheeks and lips. After treating for infection, the problem just kept getting worse. Finally figured out it was this toothpaste! I stopped using it about a week ago and things are much better. I felt like I had burned the inside of my mouth, but knew I hadn't. Red swollen lips, burning, tingling, sore places. It was terrible. After all of the similar complaints I have read, I am surprised this product is still on the market.

For the last 6 weeks I have been bothered by swollen chapped lips which I had thought were from my running outdoors and frequent swimming. I tried numerous remedies from standard OTC balms to natural homemade remedies. The problem kept getting worse, eventually resulting in lip ulcers and pain whenever I ate something slaty, acidic or contained alcohol. My lips started resembling clown lips, and have oozing and bleeding. Something told me to suspect it may have been the toothpaste, Colgate Optic White which we had bought from Costco a few months earlier. I googled it and I was shocked that hundreds of other people had similar complaints so I Immediately stopped using it and through out my remaining tubes.

It didn't effect everyone in my family, just me, so I can't say this stuff is completely poisonous, I do think it needs to have a warning label.

This toothpaste works like a charm for me. I really like Colgate a lot. I haven't experienced any type of sores or the swollen tongue. I think that the Crest Strips doesn't work very well like the Colgate Optic White does for me. The Crest White Strips eats your enamel away. I am so glad that I chose Colgate Optic White!!! :)

I've been using Optic White for about one month, works fairly well on my old stained teeth. I can definitely see a difference. I drink a lot of soda so brilliant white is a thing of the past for me.

I did chip a tooth while gnawing too hard on a chicken wing the other day, had to get a cap. Do you think I should blame Colgate and sue like these cry babies here with their bogus complaints?

Read the directions and follow them, don't eat the tooth paste, rinse well.
Worked for me.

I tried it out for the first time today because I've seen the commercials and wanted to whiten my teeth. But as soon as I rinsed my mouth I looked in the mirror and noticed were my gums and teeth meet, right in front of my mouth, I saw that my gums were white. I got scared and used my regular toothpaste trying to get rid of it, and then about 5 minutes passed and that same exact area started hurting. I would never recommend this to someone because it is painful afterwards.

This toothpaste is great (for a toothpaste) but for whitening, not as much... The whitening part works okay, but not as much as I'd like it to. I would still reccomend it though, because it probably didn't work for me as good because I didn't brush my teeth with it that much.. :) I didn't have any of the sores or pain that everyone's been talking about, so that's good.

Wow, I'm shocked at the comments above. I have been using this toothpast for about 3 weeks and Love it, Love it, Love it! My teeth are noticibly whiter every day and I'm not experiencing any sensitivity like I have in the past with Crest White strips or other problems at all.

I used the product for aprox. 2-3 days, twice a day and got painful blisters on the inside of the lower lip and tongue. Stopped using the toothpaste yesterday and got some OTC medication to stop the pain, but it is still very painful to brush my teeth or eat. I don't recommend the toothpaste.

I only used this product for two days. And only brushed my teeth once each of those days. I have experienced burning and sore like blisters on the roof of my mouth. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product. I have never in my life had trouble with any other tooth paste. I would stick to the crest 3D white strips they work faster and I had no symptoms with it.

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!! I used it for only 4 days (once a day) and on the 5th day developed blisters all over the inside of my mouth including my tongue, gums and roof of my mouth. They were so bad that the skin on my gums came off and became infected. I have been in immense pain for almost a week now. I can barely eat as it is just to painful to chew. I am worried about the long term effects of this product on my teeth and gums. I have read several other complaints about this product on other sites all claiming the same side effects. I would never recommend using this product and feel it is very unsafe and should be removed from the shelves.

I used Optic White 4 times. I have blisters. I cannot brush where they are. Under the worst affected area, I have a lump on my jaw line. I don't know what is going on. This is day 4. I was perfectly fine before I used this toothpaste.

Causes burns and soars so bad. My lower gums are so white and thin and peeling from the burn. I can't even brush my teeth now until it heals. It even hurts to eat or drink anything. It doesn't even whiten your teeth.

This toothpaste seemed fine at first. Then in about two months I noticed a sore in my mouth...and it wouldn't heal. With further investigation, I noticed a redness and what looks like the start of other sores. They are not painful, but certainly scared me a little. I decided to stop using the Colgate Optic White toothpaste and after just a few days the sores are going away. I could not recommend this product. I did not notice my teeth getting any more white in color either.

Used it for two weeks. One of us got a painful sore on the inside of their cheek, the other got bleeding gums. Both are improving within 2 days of switching to a different toothpaste.

Quite a strong flavor, but I like that in a paste. Whitened noticeably, and left breathe fresh for an hour or so. No problems with blisters, redness, or burning as listed with others who have posted. I am very happy with this product, especially since it is easy to find and affordable. I have used it for 9 months.

DO NOT use Optic White Tooth Paste. I used it and woke up the next morning with a burn on the right side of my mouth. I was so raw I put some petroleum jelly on it to try to sooth the burning. After a few days when it did not seem to be healing I went to my doctor; she wrote me a prescription for a burn ointment and for an antibiotic to prevent infection. No more Colgate tooth paste of any kind for me...I'll stick to Crest!

It causes severe burning sensation in the throat, giving feeling of sore throat. I kept a log of it. The day I used this toothpaste, I had severe burning sensation and irritation in the throat, leading to cough from this irritation. So now, after I am convinced that this toothpaste does cause severe burning sensation in the throat, I have stopped using it altogether. No need to suffer by using this chemically poorly formulated toothpaste which causes above problem.

After using Colgate optic white toothpaste for a couple of weeks, I woke up this morning with a rash of blisters on the roof of my mouth. I will have to see a physician, since I don't know how to treat the condition. They feel like a burn from something hot. I was fine at dinner last night, then noticed the burns this morning. Do not use this toothpaste. It does not whiten any better than other less dangerous toothpastes.
